I saw on Facebook the other day that Ashley, Bianca’s Mom (Bianca is Autumn’s half sister), started a new Etsy store called Bianca Bug’s Boutique. She sells the most adorable wrap skirts and is so talented w/ sewing. Please check it out, if only to see the precious pictures of Bianca’s first modeling gig.
I went to the dentist again this morning b/c I thought they were going to put the crown on my latest root canal. But, I ended up having 2 cavities filled, b/c the bottom left hand tooth had that huge black spot and was close to the nerve. Luckily, I didn’t have to get a root canal on that tooth and they were just able to do a filling.
I had a coupon for a free smoothie, so on the way into work I stopped and got one. I was hungry since I hadn’t eaten breakfast, b/c who wants to go to the dentist w/ the possibility of food in between your teeth even after flossing? I didn’t want to chew anything b/c my tongue & mouth were still numb and I didn’t want to bite my cheek or tongue. The smoothie hit the spot. I was so surprised when I got to work and found this cup of flowers on my desk. One of the new sales guys brought them in b/c he said his wife told him they would brighten up the office. She was right, and it was fun to look at them throughout the day.
After work, we went to Mom & Dad’s house and I helped Mom cook up some onions and bell peppers while Dad & Autumn cooked some marinated chicken on the grill for fajitas. I put on the onion goggles I got Mom for Christmas b/c my eyes water like crazy anytime I am around chopped onions. Nick & Dad were making fun of how I looked w/ the glasses on, but they weren’t laughing later when the onions burned their eyes and made them cry. Comfort before beauty, boys! The fajitas were so super yummy.
After dinner, Autumn begged to go on a walk. Mom refused to go b/c of her last experience on a walk. I am so happy w/ all of the beautiful flowers in the neighborhood. I took all of these pics w/ just the camera on my iPhone. I need to bring my nice camera tomorrow to take more pictures. These pretty pin cushion flowers are in Mom & Dad’s flower beds and there are a bunch of buds ready to burst, so those will be pretty. I like to call them firework flowers b/c that’s what they look like to me. Although, I do see why they are called pin cushion flowers.
This gorgeous flower was in a neighbor’s yard that lives at the other end of the neighborhood. There were also a bunch of buds that haven’t bloomed yet so I’ll have to check back in a few days to see how many have bloomed and get more pictures. I love Spring!
These yellow & purple/blue iris growing together made me happy. We got home and watched an episode of Chopped w/ Mom. By this time it was already 8:30, so Autumn & I came home so I could get her to bed.
After she was in bed, I put a load of whites in the washer, put on Season 2 of Downtown Abbey, sorted out Autumn’s hair elastics by color, and then made a root beer float for Nick & I. Downtown Abbey makes me so happy. Season 3 (which I have heard will start in September) can’t get here soon enough! It was a good day.
