Good Bye Training Wheels, Hello Snake

IMG_5488 This morning we slept in, had breakfast, got cleaned up, and went over to Mom & Dad’s to watch conference.  Mom had this really long and cute train puzzle that she let Autumn put together so Autumn had something quiet to do.  Since it has numbers, it also helped her practice her numbers.

P1050334 After the first session, we had a roast and carrots and potatoes and gravy for lunch.  It was super tasty, and even better was the manly jello w/ whipped cream for dessert.  After the 2nd session of conference, I was honestly disappointed that conference was already over.  I’m sad Elder Bednar didn’t speak during conference, either.  Autumn had been so good and had been asking all day to go on a walk.  So, Dad & I put on our walking shoes and went on a walk.  It was hot enough that we got sweaty just walking.  Yuck!  Autumn looked so funny riding a boy bike in her Christmas dress.

P1050342 When we got back to the house, Dad took the training wheels off of the bike so we can start teaching Autumn to ride a bike w/ out them.  Now that she’s got the hang of how to pedal and steer, it’s time to teach her balance.

P1050343 We tried the trick of putting a sheet or towel around her while she pedaled.  It’s a trick Uncle Keith used back when I was a little girl and he was teaching me to ride a bike.  Needless to say, it didn’t go that well w/ Autumn.  She forgot to pedal and just kept laughing, and tipping over.  Dad said we would try again tomorrow.

IMG_0144On the way home, I saw something moving across the road.  We stopped the car and got out to see what it was.  It was this little snake.  We thought it was pretty cool and watched it slither across the street and into the grass.
