Messy Monday

Today was just a typical day of work for me, “college” for Autumn, and then going over to Papa & Mimi’s house for dinner.  After I got Autumn to bed tonight, I got the organizing bug and decided I had had enough of all the papers that felt like they were taking over my life.  I gathered up all the piles of paper that I could find.  This picture doesn’t accurately depict just how bad it was.

This is what it looked like in the middle of all the sorting.  This picture doesn’t do justice either to the mess I had made.  But, it has to get worse before it gets better.  I just started making piles of all the papers that went together like an insurance pile, water bill pile, electric bill pile, tithing slip pile, stuff to save and put in Project Life pile, church lessons I’ve taught pile, etc.  Once I had all the papers sorted into piles, I went through each pile and put them in numerical order if needed and then I took them back to the office and started filing.  There is something so satisfying about getting things filed away in their proper places.  Yeah for manila folders and tabs and labels and cute pens…all tools used to help me organize my chaos. 

I stayed up way too late, b/c I didn’t realize how bad I had let things go and how long it would take to organize it all.  But I slept so much better that night knowing everything was in its rightful place.
