Today at work we were just sitting and working away when all of a sudden the sky got dark & the wind picked up. We thought it was just going to rain when we heard the tornado sirens go off. I pulled up the radar online and it showed that the metroplex area was getting pummeled by rain & that there were tornado warnings in effect..
There was also video online of semi trucks being picked up by a tornado and thrown around like they were toothpicks! We talked about our plan of action about where we would go to take cover if it came to that. Luckily, we only got lots of heavy rain where we were. Mom said everything was OK where they were, so I didn’t have to worry about Autumn at daycare.
These are some scary shots that were on the news tonight when I got home. There are reports of complete neighborhoods being destroyed and thousands of people w/out power. Luckily there have not been any deaths reported.
Mom & Dad took all the suitcases out from the closet that’s under the stairs just in case they needed to go in there for cover. Autumn thought that was pretty cool and sounded like fun. We talked about where we would hide at our house if we had to.
For dinner we went to one of our favorite grocery stores b/c on Tuesdays they have prime rib & mushroom soup. It’s so rich that we use it like a gravy over rice or noodles, or even bread. Autumn had fun sitting under the cart and being pushed around.
While we were walking around and shopping I noticed these cool bags on top of the shelves w/ the windmill and sign. Pretty fancy. We got a few other things and then went back to Mom & Dad’s house and had dinner. Tonight when Autumn & I got home we made sure to thank Heavenly Father in our prayers that we & our homes had been kept safe. We also made sure to pray for those that were affected by the tornadoes.
