Mom went out to dinner w/ Maggie tonight to celebrate Maggie’s birthday. She said she didn’t know what Dad was doing, but to call and see what he was doing for dinner. I called him and told him to come meet me & Autumn at McDonald’s. I had a coupon for a free kid’s meal w/ the purchase of a value meal. Autumn is like her Papa in so many ways, and this is one of the ways…making a sandwich out of anything. I always give her the top bun off my Big Mac, and tonight she put some ketchup on it, then layered her chicken nuggets, and then put some fries on top of that! Definitely not the healthiest sandwich around, but she cracks me up!
Dad had been over at our house trying to find a leak in Nick’s shower that was getting the wall by the stairs all wet. He had washed his hands really well, but they were still covered in black stuff. When he sat down to eat, Autumn kept telling him he needed to wash his hands. He kept telling her he did, but she didn’t believe him. When he asked her for a hug she was really hesitant at first b/c she didn’t want him to get her all dirty. She finally touched his hands to make sure it wouldn’t get on her and then gave him a big hug. Dad and I were cracking up. She can be such a girly girl sometimes, and then other times she loves to be out in the dirt making messes.
When we got home, Autumn went to use her toilet and started yelling for me to come look at her bathroom. Dad had hammered holes in the wall to find the leak. He thought it was coming from the tub spout, but it wasn’t. So, he had to move a little further up to the valve and see if it was leaking there. It wasn’t. So, he had to move up to the shower head to see if it was leaking there. It wasn’t in that spot, so he had to make a little bit bigger hole and finally found the leak. I guess there was a hole in the pipe and the previous homeowner didn’t know about it b/c she and her husband never used that bathroom. I don’t know what we would do w/ out Dad and his handy man skills. He is always fixing things at our house and over at the rental house we used to live in. He’s amazing and we’re lucky to have him.
