Tonight for dinner we did grilled hamburgers and corn on the cob. I did the grilling since Dad was gone golfing for a charity event. I didn’t get the insides done enough b/c they were still pink, but they tasted good. After dinner, I decided it was time for Autumn to start learning how to load the dishwasher. Chores are good for kids, so tonight was her first try. I’m excited for her to learn how to do this so she can feel some responsibility for helping out. She asked why we load the dishwasher and I told her, “if you eat, you help.” The end.
After dinner we relaxed and watched last night’s recorded episode of Modern Family. It was good, but I didn’t laugh really hard like I usually do. The season finale of Big Bang Theory was good. Then, it was time to wake up the hermit crabs. Mom & Dad got 2 hermit crabs for Andrew when they were down in Port Aransas. But, the crabs are nocturnal and Andrew didn’t really enjoy having them, so Mom brought them home w/ her on Wednesday. I guess you have to get them out once a day and let them run around for exercise. So, we put them on the ground and woke them up and off they went.
One is called Peter & one is called Parker. LOL! I kept trying to get them to be friends and “talk” to each other, but they kept crawling off in opposite directions.
Autumn liked watching them, but wasn’t about to let them crawl on her hand. I did, and it tickled. I was surprised that Emma was such a good puppy and didn’t try to attack them or sniff them or bark at them. She just sat by me and watched them w/ the rest of us. Maybe tomorrow Autumn will be brave enough to let them crawl on her.
