I was so happy when I called Dad tonight to see what the plan was and he said Mom was already home from Austin! we didn’t think she was going to be home until tomorrow. We had a yummy dinner of grilled German wurst out on the patio and grilled corn. Then I had to leave for YWomen’s and took Autumn w/ me since I had told her she was coming w/ me (that was before I knew Mom was back from Austin). Tonight was Senior’s Night, and we have 4 Senior girls. I loved these cute signs they had up on the walls in the gym.
The girls (only 3 of them came) had filled out a questionnaire about themselves, and then those answers were used as they played a mock version of the game of Life.
I know this is a horrible shot, but it’s the best I could get in the gym. They were given a “graduation sash” in their favorite colors, a color copy of their favorite car, which temple they want to be married in, dolls for how many kids they want to have, the flag for a country they would like to visit, etc. It was fun to get to know more about these girls and celebrate them and this big step in their lives. After the game, there was a slideshow of the 4 girls which started when they were young and then went through different ages up until now. It was really touching, and I got teary-eyed when I thought about how it will be Autumn’s graduation from High School before I know it! For refreshments, they had the girls bring their favorite dessert. Someone brought the yummiest and gooiest brownies. I think they were slightly undercooked, which made them super good.
Autumn & I got home and I noticed the vacuum was out. I went to put it away and saw that Dad had cut this big hole in the wall. A few weeks ago I noticed the wall by the stairs was wet, and it backs up to Nick’s bathroom. Dad had to cut the wall to see why it was getting wet and to see if he can fix the problem. I guess it’s not the tub itself, but it’s up near the shower head. I don’t know what we would do w/out Dad and what an incredible handy-man he is. He’s definitely a jack-of-all-trades.
