Taking Vitals & Trying New Recipes Tuesday

P1060470Autumn was so excited for me to pick her up tonight, b/c she got to go over to Kylie’s house.  I dropped her off and picked up Karri and we went over to the church.  Dad was doing physicals for the Scouts and needed help getting their vitals.  Usually Mom & Maggie do it, but Mom is in Austin and Maggie was working.  So, I offered to do it, and asked Karri on Sunday if she would help me.  We didn’t know how to do anything, but it was crazy easy.  We had them stand on a scale and I wrote down their weight, stand against some marks on the door and wrote down how tall they were, and then Karri took their blood pressure w/ this machine and wrote that down w/ their heart rate.

In years past, it was crazy busy b/c they would do Scout physicals for all of the wards.  But, since there are now 6 wards Dad limited it to just his ward this time.  And, there was another doctor helping w/ physicals so that made it go faster.  Karri and I got to spend a lot of time talking, which was so much fun.  I just adore her and am SO THANKFUL we are friends.

P1060465 We were only there for an hour and then I took her home and picked up Autumn.  Autumn didn’t want to leave, b/c she was having the time of her life and LOVES playing w/ Kylie & Kenzie.  I was finally able to drag her away from the house and we went home and she played w/ her dolls for a little bit while I cooked.  I wanted to make this Spicy Sausage Pasta from Kevin & Amanda.  I had to improvise a little b/c I didn’t have any Rotel, so I just used salsa.  I am tired of having to go out to eat for lunch b/c it gets so expensive.  I was able to feed Nick, Autumn & myself dinner and then have enough left over for all of us to have for lunch tomorrow.

P1060466I also bought some of this Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, b/c Aunt Jana said it’s all they use and they love it.  I’ve never had it before and wanted to try it.  I spread some on these tortillas, put some canned chicken, and cheese and made BBQ chicken quesadillas.  That way we could have them for a quick breakfast in the morning or for lunch.  They were super easy to make and were super good.  It felt good to cook.
