Today at Autumn’s daycare it was “Doughnuts With Daddy.” So, we left the house a few minutes earlier than usual so I could sit w/ her while she ate a doughnut. This kid came out of nowhere right as I snapped the picture. It looks like he’s going in for a kiss, but he just whispered something in her ear. LOL!
After work, I got Autumn and took her to Mom & Dad’s and then Nick & I hit the road to go to the rodeo. I got 4 tickets for free through work. One of our vendors brought in 8 tickets to the rodeo, but only me and one other lady in the office were available to go for this time, so we each took 4 tickets. It ended up being me, Nick, Liz & Liberty. The scariest part of the rodeo were these little 4 and 5 year old kids that rode mini bulls. It’s called “Mini Pee Wee Bull Riding.”
It was the real deal and a few of the kids got so hurt that they had to take them out on stretchers. It was after the kids fell off and the bulls either stepped on them or kicked them on accident! It was scary to watch.
One fun thing they did about 1/2 way through the rodeo, was they had the kids come down onto the arena floor. The cowyboys had tied 2 ribbons to the tail of some small calves and let them loose in the arena. Which ever kids got the ribbons won a prize. It was really funny to watch.
It was cool b/c we were up in one of the suites and we had free food which included brisquet, ribs, potato salad, green bean casserole and some really good BBQ sauce. The best part, however, was the peach cobbler w/ Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. It was so good I had to close my eyes and wave my fork back and forth while I sighed. YUMMY!
Here’s our crew that were in the suite. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time.
Liz, Liberty, Jacob, Bobbie’s husband & daughter, Bobbie, Mike, Bobbie’s other daughter & Nick
Each company/group that owns a suite gets to decorate it however they want. Ours was awesome. I could not get enough of these tall bar stools. The seat is an old refurbished tractor seat and the footrest is horseshoes. So cool!
The last event of the evening was the bull riding. They take a few people down into the arena and they get to sit in that black cage thing. Talk about being close to the action! It was a great evening and we finally left at 10:00. Luckily there wasn’t bad traffic on the way home like we had on the way there (2 separate accidents in the HOV lane less than a mile apart).
