This morning we got up and went over to Mom & Dad’s house so I could help Mom get some desserts ready for Tyler’s Annual Flag Day party. Last night we made a funfetti cake (or you could use yellow or white cake) and let it cool overnight. Then I made a batch of cream cheese frosting, and frosted the cake. To make the flag we put some blueberries in the corner and then for the stripes we used cherries from cherry pie filling. It was super easy and looked super cool.
We went to Tyler’s to celebrate Flag Day. I didn’t take very many pictures, but it was fun to be w/ family and friends and eat good food. Those of us that didn’t swim worked on a puzzle.
We had to leave by 2:00 to make it home in time for a swim party at our house at 3:00. Nate was trying to show Autumn how he could pick her up by her ears, but she wasn’t getting it so he just squeezed her face and picked her up that way instead. The kid standing w/ Nate is a friend of Nate’s that he was stationed with in Japan. His name is Nic and he now is stationed in Louisiana, so he drove up for the weekend. He is totally one of us and was joking around and fit right in.
We had a pest control peeps party. It was fun to have so many people in the pool talking and swimming and enjoying each other’s company.
Autumn is such a brown little Indian, and gets so dark in the summer even though I slather her up in sunscreen. We were swimming and having fun when all of a sudden we heard a huge rumble of thunder. It was so weird b/c it was sunny and bright and there were no storm clouds in sight. Within an hour, it got windy and cloudy and we had to get out of the pool b/c a storm started coming through. Everyone had just brought snack foods, so we munched on those and then went in the house once everyone had dried off and we played Catch Phrase. It was hilarious and before I knew it, it was 7:30 pm! Everyone packed up and went home and Mom & I made tacos for dinner. It was a non-stop fun day and we made some great memories.
