Mums Monday

Tonight I went over to Christine’s for our weekly girl’s get together.  Christine had these gorgeous mums on her front porch.  She said these 2 different colors just came together in the same pot.  It was so gorgeous to see the orange & red mixed together in a kind of ombre effect.

Christine needed to get out of the house for a minute to relax, so we piled in Karri’s vehicle and went to Sonic to get drinks.  When we got back we talked and laughed and made plans for our girls weekend.  We finally started watching the last episode of Downton Abbey Season 1at 11:30.  Melanie & Christine worked on making mums for their kids’ homecoming.  Are homecoming mums only a Texas thing, or do other states do that too?

Christine is crazy talented and they whipped out these 2 mums in just a little over an hour.  I don’t think kids have any idea how much us Moms sacrifice and do for them.  They just wake up in the morning and see a finished product.  I told Mary & Christine that they and my Mom had better be around when Autumn’s older and needs stuff like this.  I am not as talented in the craft department as they are.

Mary had made mums for her son a few weeks ago.  She even made a mum ring.  With mums, the bigger and louder (hence the bells) the better.  I got home at 1:00 and fell into bed and fell promptly to sleep.
