Eye Problems

P1080576 Since last Friday, my right eye has been bothering me.  There was some pressure behind my eye and Jon adjusted me a few times and it helped alleviate the pressure for a while.  I woke up on Monday night at 3:30 w/ excruciating pain behind my eye.  I took some Motrin and finally was able to go back to sleep an hour later when the pain subsided.  My eye is so bloodshot and is bright red.  My vision has not been effected at all, and my insurance doesn’t kick in until January, so I haven’t gone to see an ophthalmologist yet.  I called an old family friend that’s an ophthalmologist and got some advice.

Last night the pain was so bad that I woke up crying and went in and asked Nick to give me a Priesthood blessing.  I took some Motrin and was eventually able to go back to sleep.  When Mom & Dad came over this morning to get Nick to go to the temple, I asked Dad to give me a blessing.  He did and then also wrote me a prescription for some antibacterial eye drops.  This little tiny bottle that’s the size of a quarter was $30!!!  But if it works, it will be worth every penny.  I’ve had to wear sunglasses at work b/c the light from outside just makes my eye ache & throb.

This whole experience has made me appreciate my eye sight so much.  I’m beyond blessed that my vision hasn’t changed at all.  But, it’s made me reflect on how important my sight is, and how I need to not take it for granted.  I’m also thankful for the power of the Priesthood & modern medicines.
