Rosy Posy spelled out a message to us today w/ magnets from the fridge. Autumn wanted to know why she was just holding the letter “U” and didn’t spell out “you”. I said it must have been b/c we didn’t have a “Y” and she had used the “o” in l-o-v-e. We love Rosy Posy as much as she loves us, and are sad that she has less than a week left w/ us. I keep reminding Autumn that she’ll come back next year.
For our Young Women’s activity tonight, we went to the $1 Store and gave each of the girls a $1 and had them draw each other’s names. Then after they had bought their gifts we went over to the lighted/musical Christmas tree and they exchanged their gifts that they had gotten for each other. It was windy, but so warm outside (75 degrees)! I love it. We also left some candy canes on people’s car door handles w/ a note that they had been “Elfed.”
After that, we went over to a local gas station that just opened, and they have free hot chocolate (any size) for this whole week! We all got a big cup of it and they had to come refill the powder b/c it ran out. I told the girls we had to get a picture of them sitting at this cute barstool area. Little did I know, there was a big case of “Ice Cold Beer” behind them! LOL! It was fun having Catherine there w/ us since she’s home for the holiday and visiting from college. It’s crazy to think that she was one of these Laurel’s just a few months ago. It was a fun activity!
On the way back to the church, there was the most incredible lightning storm! A bunch of cold air from the north was coming in and mixing w/ all the hot tropical air. I pulled over in a parking lot and just sat and watched it b/c there were so many flashes and it was taking up so much of the sky. It was AWESOME! I loved it!
