Big Bad Bowling Bunch

P1080946 Yesterday Mom & Dad & Nick & Charles went bowling at Main Event.  Charles has some disabilities and lives w/ his parents in Utah, but is here visiting his sister for a few weeks.  He was getting bored of just staying at home, so Mom & Dad & Nick offered to take him bowling b/c that’s something he likes to do.  He had so much fun that he called Mom today and said he wanted to go bowling again!  Aunt Sandy came over to visit us and sew for a few days, so she came bowling, too.  She even had her own bowling ball and shoes.

They picked up Autumn from daycare and I met them at the bowling alley after work.  Mom is so good to us and even splurged on pizza and drinks for us.  It was so fun bowling w/ Charles b/c he just says what he’s thinking and is so pure and innocent.  It’s so refreshing to be around someone that doesn’t have that filter.  We kept razzing him about how he was doing so well and was faking us out and was creeping up from behind to win.  He loved it and we loved being w/ him.

P1080948Here are our scores for Game 1.  My goal when bowling is to try and break 100.  I got close this time, but didn’t break that 100 mark.  I took a bowling class for one of my PE credits in college and it was such a fun class.  The bowling shoes at this place were super super slippery, so I was really hesitant when doing my approach b/c I didn’t want to slip and fall.

P1080958I did much better in Game 2, and I even got a turkey (3 strikes in a row) on the 5th, 6th, and 7th frames!

P1080960 Half way through our 3rd round, the turned off the lights and put on the black lights and party lights.  My nails looked SO COOL in the black lights.  Autumn LOVED it b/c she had on some wild patterned pants that had white on them and she thought she looked so awesome in the black lights.

P1080963Since there were lights flashing all over, it made it so hard to see the bowling lane.  I did horrible and only got an 81!  At this bowling place they have it where you can put the bumpers up depending on who is bowling.  So, we had them up for Charles, Nick & Autumn.  Sandy & I bowled w/out them.  It was cool b/c they would just go up and down w/out us even noticing.

P1080965By the end of our 4th game, it was 9:00 and we were all pretty tired.  It was such an incredibly fun night, and we got to play as long as we wanted for just $5 per person plus shoe rental.  Such a good deal, especially for a place that wasn’t smoke filled.  I hate going to bowling alleys that reek of smoke.  Autumn definitely improved as the night went on (not score wise) but at getting the ball to go down the lane faster.  At first it would barely make it down the lane and then by the end it didn’t take nearly as long.  She really enjoyed herself.  Thanks for the memory making fun, Mom!
