Tonight was HORRIBLE!!!  The plan was that we would eat dinner and then go to the local high school’s production of The Wizard Of Oz.  Well, Mom was having a hard day to begin w/ and Autumn was super moody when I picked her up from school and that was a recipe for disaster.  I had brought a cute blue and white gingham dress for Autumn to wear w/ her red glitter shoes, and I was going to do her hair in braids so she would look like Dorothy.  But, she didn’t want to wear it and had a fit.  Mom stepped in to help me out b/c Autumn was being a stinker.  We finally got her dressed in a different outfit b/c she didn’t want to wear her Dorothy one.  We went to get in the car and Autumn started complaining about the car seat and having to put on her seat belt.  That was the last straw for Mom, so she said her & Autumn were going to stay home and that I should try and find someone to take their tickets.

This all went down at 6:30 and the show started at 7:00.  I called Liz to see if she wanted to go, but Liberty wasn’t home from work yet to watch Jacob.  In the meantime, Autumn was sobbing uncontrollably and put herself in time out and scratched her face and was saying how dumb she is and that she’s a bad person.  She was crying so hard she was having a hard time breathing.  Long story short, I ended up taking Autumn w/ me and leaving so that Mom could be alone and have a quiet night w/out having to keep a hysterical (not in a funny way) Autumn.

IMG_8611We went and picked up Kenzie b/c we had invited her to use the 4th ticket we had a few days ago since Nick had to work.  We got to the high school and went to get our tickets.  The lobby was a ZOO!  They had the will call tickets set up horribly and no one knew which line to get in, etc.  Anyways, we finally got our tickets and since we had an extra, I saw some people from church in line to buy tickets, so I gave them our extra one.  When we went into the theater, I was BLOW AWAY by how nice it is.  I would have LOVED to have had such a nice theater when I was in high school.  The show was supposed to start at 7:00, but it didn’t start until 7:30 b/c there were so many people still trying to buy tickets.

IMG_0675 Since we had a while to wait, we went up to look in the orchestra pit.  They had a net over it and Autumn thought it was SO COOL that she could look down in there and see the musicians.

IMG_0676The show was PHENOMENAL!  The girl that played Dorothy (Rachel) is our old stake president’s daughter and she did such a good job.  This theater is so nice that they even had a fly system where the witch on her bike flew across the stage.  Or where Glenda the Good Witch floated in to Munchkin Land.  The witch even came up and down through a trap door in the stage floor.  It was a great production and made me miss my high school theater days so much.

The show got out at 10:00 and we got out of there right away so we weren’t stuck in traffic.  I offered to take Autumn & Kenzie to McDonald’s for a $1 cone, but Kenzie just wanted to get home so she could go to bed.  So, we dropped her off and then Autumn & I went to McDonald’s and got our treats and we also brought home a few hamburgers for Nick.

I am really starting to worry about Autumn and how she’s so out of control and says derogatory things about herself.  Her temper is just getting worse and worse and I really need to figure out how to diffuse it now while she’s 6, so neither of us end up in prison from wanting to kill each other!!!
