This is my 2,000th post!!! It’s hard to believe I’m been blogging since March 2007. I’m so thankful for this little space of mine on the internet where I can share what’s going on in my life. I’m so thankful for the internet friendships I’ve been able to create over the years. I’m thankful to have this virtual journal/scrapbook/family history recorded. Since I’m behind on blogging, I’ll have to do a giveaway once I get caught up to celebrate my 2,000th post.
Autumn was so good when we got home last night and earned 50 points. I sent her teacher an email today about my concerns, and we talked on the phone while I drove home. It was really good. Her teacher said Autumn was really really good at school today, and we’ll work together on helping her any way we can. Since she was so good at school today, I told her that she had earned some more points and that Mimi had invited us to come up to her ward’s Blue & Gold Banquet (BGB). It was Survivor themed one, and this backdrop was so cute.
On Survivor, the 1st thing you have to do is build a fire. So, Mom had the Scouts build these fires out of sticks, orange & yellow & red tissue paper, and wire. It was a really cute idea and once they were done, they had to take it to their table, which was used as a centerpieces.
For dinner we had tacos in a bag and fruit kabobs.
For dessert we had mud (chocolate pudding), dirt (crushed Oreos) and worms.
After dinner, they did a fun activity where they split the Scouts into two groups and had tents set up on either side of the gym. One was filled w/ yellow balloons and one was filled w/ blue balloons. They had to tape all the balloons together and try to build a tower out of them.
This picture is blurry, but there was a string w/ this brown paper cone on it and the kids had to use big breaths of air to get it across to the other side of the gym where their tent was. Whichever group got everyone in the tent first were the winners. It was such a fun night and Autumn was such a good helper when it was time to clean up.
