Autumn & I didn’t get to sleep in this Memorial Day. We got up at 6:30 and got to Mom & Dad’s by 7:00 so we could take them and Nick to the airport. They left this morning to go visit Nate in Japan. We’re going to miss them so much, but are excited they get to travel and have fun.
This picture doesn’t do it justice, but there were hundreds of streams of light breaking through the clouds. It was gorgeous!
Autumn & I were complete bums today. It was kind of nice to just sit and veg on the couch and watch daytime shows like Wendy Williams. She played w/ Luz’s kids, I made lunch, and then I looked up a bunch of crock pot recipes for me to make so I won’t be tempted to eat out every night while Mom & Dad are gone.
Once I got my list together, we went to WalMart and got what we needed. We went back to Mom & Dad’s house and Autumn wanted to watch one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies that she hadn’t seen yet. It was SO WEIRD not to have Emma around. She’s staying w/ some family friends b/c Autumn & I are gone too long during the day for Emma to not be able to go out and go potty.
We were going to swim in the afternoon, but it was too windy and cold. We ended up going over to Curt & Mary’s for a little bit b/c I needed to borrow some mandarin oranges. Autumn went out & jumped on the “jumpoline” w/ Jessie and had a blast. I had a nice time sitting inside talking to Mary, especially since I haven’t seen her in a long time.
We went over to Karri’s at 7:30 to watch the season premiere of the Bachelorette. Autumn went upstairs and played w/ Kenzie and had a great time. It was hard for both of us to leave early and come home, but I had to get her to bed. I’m so thankful & appreciative for good friends.
As a side note, it’s so weird to think that I got married 7 years ago on Memorial Day. It’s crazy to think of how much has changed in my life since then. I’m eternally grateful, though, b/c I have my Autumn girl & I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world.
It was a nice Memorial Day, and I’m so thankful for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of my freedoms. Home of the free because of the brave!
