Monday ~ Happiness is … having Papa & Mimi & Nick home from Japan! They took forever getting through customs so we had Curt go pick Autumn up from daycare b/c we wouldn’t have made it back in time. They brought home lots of presents & this pink dress (see pic at bottom of this post) is the highlight. I laughed so hard when I saw the pics of these signs (again…see pic at the bottom of the post) they saw around. Welcome home!!!
Tuesday ~ Happiness is … going for a one-on-one swim session w/ Papa. He’s always up for spending time w/ the grandkids & making them feel important. I love this moment I sneak caught through the blinds of Autumn looking up at Papa so adoringly. Since I was inside, I couldn’t hear their conversation, but this sweet moment & connection they share made me smile. I hope she will appreciate how loved & lucky she is.
Wednesday ~ Happiness is … seeing Autumn in a sample cheerleading outfit for the first time. We had her cheer meet & greet tonight at her coach’s house. They fit the girls for their uniforms & then had a pizza party. I’m so excited for her & think this will be so good for her & something that she’ll have a great time doing. I’m glad the uniforms are fit to be modest & that I asked that we don’t have practices on Sunday so we can keep the Sabbath day holy.
Thursday ~ Happiness is … having Lexie & the boys come up to visit. When Mom told Andrew we were having spaghetti for dinner, he asked if he could use the chopsticks that Papa & Mimi brought him from Japan. Not to be left out on the fun dining experience, Autumn & Papa had to eat their noodles w/ chopsticks, too. LOL! The kids did really well w/ their training Japanese chopsticks.
Friday ~ Happiness is … traditions like Dad making smoothies for the grandbabies. I love it how they all line up their chairs. I love it how they all laugh & cover up their ears (or cheeks if you’re Jackson) when he starts the blender. I love it how he gives them each a taste so they can give their stamp of approval before it’s poured into cups & handed out. I love it!
Saturday ~ Happiness is … celebrating a random holiday like Flag Day. It’s also the 238th birthday of the Army. It was fun to go to Tyler & Emily’s & see their new house. We also had some good food & desserts & then everyone wanted to swim. Aunt Cassie & Uncle Rich couldn’t come, so Cassie made this ADORABLE flag card & sent it. I love spending time w/ extended family.
Sunday ~ Happiness is … celebrating Father’s Day. Autumn made this paper tie at daycare & Papa wore it to church today! That was so nice & thoughtful of him to do b/c it made Autumn feel so important. For his Father’s Day lunch we had rouladen & gurken salat (cucumber salad). Dad had wanted Autumn to wear her Japanese dress to church, so we had to get a pic of him & her & the Ninja! We love you, Papa, & are so blessed you’re ours.
In the Monday slot, I used a Flip Flap to include more pictures for one day. I really wanted to include this picture that I cut out of some packaging on a box they brought home from Japan.
I also wanted to include a picture of some unique signs they found (on the left) and a picture of Autumn in her pink dress w/ Papa & Mimi. Flip Flaps are a great way to include more pics!
I am linked up over at The Mom Creative.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY Y’ALL!!!

Your flip flap idea is great! Love the cheer leading! Hope it goes well. It gets harder as they get older to deal with immodest uniforms and Sunday games and practices. We are always fighting that and saying, 'no sorry, good luck! Have a great week!
Such a sweet photo of Autumn and her grandparents.
I love the story of the smoothies. Reminds me of my grandfather making us ice cream.
