I got up early this morning & went to the 7:30 session at the temple. This is my view as I pulled into the parking lot. What a beautiful sunrise!
This was my view when I came out 2 hours later.
I rushed home and got Autumn so we could go over to Papa & Mimi’s and spend a little more time w/ Nate & Riannon before they leave for Spain. Mom & Dad are taking Riannon to the airport here in Dallas so she can fly back to CA & then fly to Spain from there. Then they are driving down to Austin & will spend the night w/ Lexie & her family. Then in the morning they will drive down to San Antonio & drop Nate off there so he can fly to Spain. I don’t know why they both couldn’t just fly out of Dallas, but that’s the military for you. It has been SO WONDERFUL having them here & especially getting to know Riannon. I’m so excited for them and all the fun adventures they’ll have in Spain.
Autumn had a MAJOR meltdown right before it was time to leave and go get her cheer pictures taken. I’m talking yelling, kicking, I had to put soap in her mouth, etc. We finally made it to her cheer pictures where we started over and she was able to put a smile on her face for the pictures. This looks like the girls are standing in a circle saying a prayer, but they were just swinging their pom poms back & forth & crashing them into each other. LOL! It was so HOT outside, but the girls were troopers and we got their individual & group pictures done. I’ll post them once I get them in the mail.
We had an hour to kill before the game, so we drove through Sonic & got a drink to cool ourselves off & to stay hydrated. We sat in the car w/ the A/C running while we waited for the game before ours to finish. Is it just me, or do her legs look a mile long in this picture?
It was windy today and part of the poster ripped before the boys even had a chance to run through it. We regrouped and they ran through, and Autumn was so happy she got to hold the sign this time.
This is their little half time cheer where they line up and then introduce themselves. Look at how tall Autumn is compared to the other girls!!!
“1, 2, 3, 4, 5, my name’s Autumn & I say hi. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, back it up and meet my friend.”
Coach Rachel is so awesome & kept going around & spraying the girls to keep them cooled off.
As our game was ending, the Cowboys team was getting ready to play after us. A bunch of boys from Autumn’s school are on that team, and we were pleasantly surprised to see Autumn’s 1st Grade teacher there to watch & cheer them on. We had to grab a quick picture w/ her. She’s such an awesome teacher!
This is a horrible picture, but I don’t care. I wanted to capture the fun that Autumn & I had. We went over to Mom & Dad’s so we could let Emma out to go potty & also eat some lunch. I made us some taco salad w/ lots of good veggies. Then after we ate, we went swimming. It was so fun to have the pool all to ourselves.
After we swam for a few hours, we went inside and snuggled on the couch and watched some TV. Some people that are famous in the quilting world are teaching some classes in the area & Mom offered to let them stay at their house. But, since Mom & Dad are gone for the weekend Mom didn’t want them to have to mess w/ Emma. So, we took Emma to our house so we could “dogsit” for the weekend. Emma HATES being in the car & FREAKS OUT! She starts shaking & panting (which is why her tongue is sticking out here). Poor thing!
We hurried home so she could get out and walk around. Autumn LOVED having her over to our house and just kept wanting to sit by her & pet her. Too bad we can’t get our own dog, but we’re gone so much of the day that it wouldn’t be fair to the dog.
