Two Bad “D” Things (Dentist & DMV) Done In One Day

Back at the end of last year, part of my left upper canine tooth chipped off.  I had maxed out my dental insurance, so I decided to wait until 2013 to get it fixed.  Then, we switched dental insurance and my dentist wasn’t listed on the providers for the new insurance.  Well, it just kept getting worse and worse until last week when I was eating lunch and it felt like someone had stabbed me repeatedly in the gums.  I knew that I had to go see the dentist even if he wasn’t on my insurance.  I was telling one of the ladies in my office about it and she said that it doesn’t matter if he’s in network or not, the coverage is the same (even though the insurance doesn’t cover much).  So, this morning was the day.  My dentist recently moved into this new building and it is FANCY!

Look at how POSH the waiting room is!  They did an X-ray and he said I would need a filling.  I knew by looking at the X-ray that it was way too close to the nerve and that I would need a root canal.  Sure enough, once he got in there and cleaned out the tooth he said that I would need a root canal.  So, he did that and put a temporary filling.  I’ll come back in a few weeks to get a post put in.  I went & dropped off my prescription for antibiotics & Vicodin at CVS, and then headed to the DMV.

Since I had already told my boss I would be in late today, I figured that I should go ahead & renew my license and get it crossed off my  list.  I renewed my license online last time, so I had to come in this time to retake the eye exam & so they could get a new pic.  At least it’s an option to renew online every other time, so in 6 years I can just do it online.  I ended up waiting 45 minutes, but at least the guy that helped me renew it was really nice & funny.  I figured I’d get 2 bad things (the dentist & DMV) out of the way in one shot.

I wasn’t up to going to Young Women’s tonight, especially since it was combined w/ the Young Men & they were playing dodgeball.  So, I took Autumn to cheer practice & just sat in my camping chair and relaxed.  They are practicing their cheer/dance for competition coming up soon.  They put Autumn last in line, b/c she’s the tallest.  Look at how much taller she is than the next tallest girl (the one in front of her).  Her legs are so much longer & she’s a whole head taller.  I told her she’s going to be an Amazon woman like me.

The sunset tonight was pretty & the moon was HUGE!  I tried to get a picture of it, but none of them turned out & really showed how cool it was.  We came home, did some reading, and then it was off to bed for her.  I watched the new episode of Duck Dynasty, worked on editing pics, and then called it a night.
