Today after work we hurried and went over to Mom & Dad’s house so I could get my hot pink witch’s hat. I asked Mom if she was going to dress up and she said this was it. I love her shirt that says, “this is my Grandma costume.” She’s so pretty & I’m glad she’s ours and we’re hers!!!
We hurried over to Dakins, and they had such a fun Halloween spread w/ mummy dogs, ghost bananas, chili, chips, dip, and an eyeball veggie tray. The weather was PERFECT so the kids ate outside and played in the backyard.
I took about 10 pics of the kids all lined up together, and this was the best one of the bunch. Half of them aren’t looking, eyes are closed, but that’s just kids for you. Especially ones that are super excited to go trick or treating.
Snow White & The Wicked Witch With The Skeleton Earrings
We started trick or treating around 6:30 and it was still fairly light outside. You can’t tell in this pic, but this house was completely decked out!
This is my favorite pic from the night, b/c it’s just the epitome of great childhood memories. Kids running off together in their costumes, laughing, having fun, and not a care in the world.
Autumn was so excited to see the Deckers. Karri said that this is the first time in 17 years that they have gotten to hand out candy together. We just love them so much!
I was glad to see they had this thing scary remote controlled robot roaming the streets again this year. It was a big hit w/ the kids last year, and this year they added the bat and witch and put a creepier head w/ eyes that light up. If I was a little kid, I’d be super scared of it.
Ben the Mummy & Autumn the Princess
Once we had gone around the neighborhood, it was 7:40 and Autumn was tired. So, we came home and she wanted to hand out candy at our house. I hadn’t bought any candy to hand out, so we just gave out some of the candy Autumn got. It was a good way to get rid of the yucky candy like tootsie rolls, dots, etc, …basically anything not chocolate. I was so surprised that Autumn was happy to give away her candy when most kids would have been upset. That’s one of the things that I love about her … she has such a giving heart.
I feel so bad for the poor school teachers tomorrow that will be dealing w/ all these kids that are on a sugar rush. Although, Autumn only had a few pieces of candy tonight.
She wanted to spread it all out on the floor.
This picture makes my OCD organizing heart so happy. She organized all her candy in piles by type and then put them in a big circle. I am counting this as a happy & successful Halloween.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2013!!!
