Sunset & Sweet Gifts From The $1 Store

P1110377 The sunset tonight was gorgeous!  I’m so excited that we’ll soon be past the winter solstice so that the days will start to stay lighter longer.  I just LOVE nature & how incredibly beautiful it is.

IMG_2014 We went to Mom & Dad’s, had dinner, and then did homework.  Autumn was reading this book to me & is doing SO GREAT!  Mom even commented on how much her reading has improved seemingly overnight.  I had to leave for Young Women’s so Autumn read to Mimi.  Mimi is wearing a Santa hat b/c she works w/ the Achievement Day Girls (like Girl Scouts) & they went caroling to a 94 year old lady in the ward.

P1110380 For our activity tonight we went to the $1 Store & each girl picked another girl’s name.  They were supposed to get the most random/creative gift they could find for the girl they picked, but they told each other what they wanted and it was ALL food like candy or ice cream or even a huge bottle of soda.  LOL!  Sis. Lee & I bought a pack of 8 shower caps for just $1 & made them wear the shower caps.  They were good sports and wore them and even let us take a pic of them!

IMG_2015I LOVE peach rings … thanks to Elder Walker for getting me hooked on them on my mission in Slovenija.  Anyways, I haven’t been able to find them at WalMart or Target, so I was so excited to see some at the $1 Store tonight.  I didn’t have very high expectations for them, but I was very pleasantly surprised that they had great flavor and were super duper soft.   YUMMY!
