Texas State Football Champs AGAIN!!!

IMG_2066 I got up early this morning so I could make it to the 7:30 session at the temple.  What better place or way to start the week of Christmas?  I sat in the celestial room for 30 minutes and had a great spiritual experience.  I love the peace that comes from the temple.

IMG_2068 As soon as I got home from the temple, Mom & Dad came and picked up Autumn & me so we could go out to Aunt Sandy & Uncle Robert’s.  We stopped and got some brunch at McDonald’s and hit the road.  Uncle Robert was just released from the hospital b/c he had hip surgery.  He had this pink pastel belt around his chest so the nurses & hospital staff could hold him up.  We made Dad hold it for this picture just for fun.  Uncle Robert is actually doing really great & was in good spirits.  We visited for a while & then had to hit the road again.

IMG_2069 We got McDonald’s again & went to the Death Star, Jerry World, or A&T Stadium.  We were there for the UIL 5A Division I Texas State Championship.  How’s that for a mouthful?  I love the new big disc in front of the stadium that reflects the sky in the front & is a big huge mirror in the back.

IMG_2070 It was general seating, and we ran into a friend from church who had a bunch of seats saved … SWEET!  I am so glad that I got to be here w/ my favorite Eagles cheerleader.

IMG_2072 It was awesome to be in Cowboy’s Stadium.  As you can see, the sun was shining on the winning team.  LOL!

IMG_2078 The first half of the game was good b/c they scored, then we scored, etc.  The score going into the half was 28 to 14 for us.  This is what the biggest band in the world looks like!  We also broke a Texas High School Football attendance record with 54,347!!!  That’s double the attendance of the college New Mexico Bowl.  We are serious about our football here in Texas!

IMG_1071We won the game w/ a score of 63 to 28!!!  Governor Perry was there to hand out the awards.  A friend posted this on his Facebook page, and I thought it was hilarious, “Well it's official Jerry Jones has officially hired Allen high school football to play the rest of the season in order to give the Cowboys a wildcard chance.”

The tickets were good for all 3 games at the stadium today, and Dad wanted to stay for the 8:00 game.  Since he never asks for anything, we were happy to stay for him to watch the game.  Luckily we only stayed until their half time, b/c it was late & Autumn needed to get home and to bed.  It was a wonderful day & I’m glad we were there to see the Eagles win their 3rd State Championship.
