I know this is probably shocking, but I didn’t take any pictures yesterday! Thursday was just a normal day and to be honest, I have been in a bit of a funk & just didn’t feel like taking pics or blogging. The only thing of note is that Nick’s girlfriend, Savi, got back from El Salvador today. After he got off work he went and picked up Flora & they drove out to the airport to pick up Savi. I’m proud of him for going WAY outside of his comfort zone & driving on the highway.
I left work an hour early today b/c it was so quiet and slow due to it being Easter weekend. I went and got Autumn from daycare and we came home, threw our bags in the car, grabbed some McDonald’s drive thru food and hit the road. I’m so glad we said a prayer before we left, b/c we were protected from a bad car crash. There was some debris in the fast lane of the highway & 6 cars in front of us had to slam on their brakes & so did we. It’s a miracle no one was rear ended b/c we were all going about 65 mph! SCARY!
We made it safely to Aunt Sandy & Uncle Robert’s farm and Autumn and the other kids went IMMEDIATELY to the “big dirt mountain,” as they called it. They spent the majority of the evening playing in the dirt and having the time of their lives.
There was a good fire going, which was nice since it was actually on the chilly side tonight. Aunt Sandy had Dutch oven chili, hot dogs, chips, and cheese. That way people could make what they wanted for dinner. Tyler & Emily brought the stuff for s’mores, and Autumn & I brought drinks. We had fun just watching the kids play, talking, eating, and spending time together.
There was a full moon tonight & it was such a picturesque setting w/ it reflecting off the pond. If you look closely you can see Brooke & Autumn on the other side of the pond. Autumn said before we got there that she was going to go back to the house w/ me to sleep. But after being at the farm she changed her mind & decided to sleep in the tent w/ Brooke. I’m so glad we have family so close & that she gets to spend time w/ them and create such fun memories.
