Autumn Is The GRAND PRIZE Winner

I was sitting at work this morning when I got a bunch of text messages from Deb w/ these pictures and a video. She said that she was a the school assembly b/c her daughter was getting an award for an art piece she had submitted to a contest. She said that Autumn had won the GRAND PRIZE for good behavior!!! I guess the kids have been earning pink tickets all month for good behavior. They drew a name from each grade to win a small prize. Then they pulled a name for the GRAND PRIZE, and Autumn's name was picked!!!

She got to come up in front of the whole entire school and got a gift bag full of goodies from the principal and vice principal. Plus, the cute couple in the rocking chairs are the people that the school is named after! I'm beyond thankful to Deb for grabbing her cell phone and snapping some pics & a video and sending them to me. She's so incredibly thoughtful.

I was so excited to hear Autumn tell me all about it when I picked her up from daycare tonight. Inside her gift bag were 9 cards for a free ice cream or fries to Chick-fil-A, a coupon for a free kids meal at Raising Cane's and Jason's Deli, a $25 gift certificate to a cookie place, some pencils, erasers, a cute stuffed animal parrot, and a few other miscellaneous things.

She said she only had about 10 tickets in the drawing. I told her what a huge tender mercy this is from Heavenly Father, especially with how bad she was feeling about herself last night. This shows that He is aware of her and that He wants her to know she's loved. (I made sure to tell her this doesn't mean she'll always win things, but in this instance it was a special reminder just to her).

We went over to Karri's house and picked her up so she could help us pick up Nick's car. It was the starter that had gone bad, and it was ready to be picked up. But, Nate & Nick were both at work. Karri followed us home in Nick's car, we left it at our house, and then we took her home. For dinner I decided to celebrate Autumn and use one of her Chick-fil-A cards. It ended up costing me over $10 to buy us both a meal and all we got out of it were free fries. LOL. I thought we had to buy something to get the free item, but we don't. So next time we'll just go through the drive thru and get a free ice cream cone after we eat our regular dinner at home. But it was so worth it to see Autumn's big and happy smile.
