Family Home Evening About Joseph Smith

Autumn & I haven't had Family Home Evening in a long time. So after dinner I said we were going to have FHE. She threw a fit and went in her room and said she wasn't going to participate. I told her that was fine and proceeded to start FHE by myself. I sang a song and said a prayer and then got out my laptop to watch a church video. By this time she came in and snuggled up next to me on the couch.

 

She said some kids at school asked her why we worship Joseph Smith. I asked her what she said to them and she said she told them that we do NOT worship him. We ONLY worship Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ. She said we believe Joseph Smith is a prophet like Moses. I was so proud of her for answering that question so well. We decided to watch this video about Joseph Smith. Autumn had me stop the video several times to ask me questions or to talk about something. The part where he has the First Vision always gives me goosebumps b/c the Spirit is so strong! We only got half way through the movie, but it was a WONDERFUL FHE. I even learned a few things that I didn't know before ... like that Joseph Smith's Dad was baptized on April 6th, the day The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was organized.
