Autumn's New Clothes

After cheer practice this morning, Autumn & I came home and got a few things done around the house. Then I needed to just GET OUT of the house for a while. So, we went to Hobby Lobby b/c Autumn wanted to get some charms she had seen when she went there w/ Riannon & her family. I let Autumn be her "Type 2" self and I didn't rush her. She stood there for about 25 minutes deciding which charms she wanted.

She finally settled on these 2 charms and used her own money to buy them. She bought a chain for the owl charm so she can wear it as a necklace. By this time it was way past lunch time, so we went to Wendy's for lunch.

Then we went to a consignment store that Autumn had also been to w/ Riannon & her family. Autumn is going to be a tall Amazon woman like me b/c she's only 9 1/2 years old and has now switched over to wearing women's size clothes (size 8 & medium) instead of girl's size clothes (14/16). She's done what I did, and completely skipped over Juniors clothes b/c they're made for tiny little tweens. Autumn tried on a BUNCH of clothes, which is great, so now we know what she likes, what she doesn't, what size she is, etc. We ended up with these 5 shirts, 4 pants, 2 skirts, and 1 dress for a little over $100! We were both exhausted when we were done, but it was so worth it. She is THRILLED and couldn't wait to get home and start putting together outfits and doing a runway show for me.

She decided to wear her new "robin egg blue" (that's what she called it) dress w/ this cute coral/peach flower necklace we bought to a wedding reception we were going to. All of a sudden she looks so grown up to me in this picture! SNIFF SNIFF!!!

The reception was for one of my former young women (the same one that I went through the temple with the other night). It was a nice venue and the food was good. Autumn had fun pulling her friends out on the dance floor to "shake their groove thing" together. It will be fun to get another picture like this in 5 years when they're young women, and then another 10 years after that when it's their own wedding receptions.

After the reception we went over to Nate & Riannon's to hang out for a little bit. Olivia LOVES Snapchat and asks to do it as soon as I walk in the door. It cracks me up to see her cute little face w/ all these weird filters.

At 8:30 when it was starting to get dark, we headed over to the pool for a "Dive In Movie." This time it was Inside Out. The water in the pool was so warm that it felt like being in a big bath tub. We had a fun time swimming and being together. We finally left at 9:30 so we could come home and get to bed at a reasonable hour.
