Nonstop Saturday

Today was NONSTOP!!! About a month ago, I got a call from the stake asking if Frank would be in charge of a yard project for a thing called "Change The World." It's a bunch of different people coming together to do service in the community. We went to a couple of meetings about it & got assigned the yard of a sweet older woman. We loaded up the truck early this morning w/ yard tools and got to her house by 9:00.

She's the sweetest lady and this was our work crew that showed up. We wanted to get started early before it got too hot. Luckily it was cloudy & there was a breeze that kept things from getting too hot. Autumn was an ANGEL & took the baby in the house to keep her cool while I stayed outside to help work.

We bagged up all of these leaves, and also cleaned out all of the green underbrush around the house.

The backyard underwent the biggest transformation, b/c several trees & bushes were completely cut down.

Joe was working so hard in the backyard that he broke the chainsaw! LOL!

Frank was able to get it all fixed up b/c he's amazing and knows just what to do. Joe said, "it was like watching Frank do surgery on the chainsaw." I'm so thankful to have a husband that is so knowledgeable and knows how to fix things.

We cleared out so many bushes & limbs that we had a HUGE pile. We called the people in charge of the service projects around the city & had them send us a garbage truck to collect all of the debris.

At one point, we even found a little snake friend.

We were done by 11:30, b/c "many hands make light work." The people in charge of the whole thing provided food for us that I had gone and picked up first thing this morning. After we finished, we sat and ate our sandwiches, chips, cookies, and rehydrated with drinks. The girls hung out inside to love on the baby.

We came home, rested and cooled off for a few minutes, and then we went to Spencer's basketball game. They lost every single game during the regular season, but everyone gets to play in the final tournament. We were happy yet sad that they won this game, b/c that means they play again this afternoon!

 Cute filter selfies with Autumn

We didn't have a ton of time between games, so we stopped at DQ to grab some lunch.

Autumn's chin looks a lot darker & worse today. Poor thing. She said it doesn't hurt unless she pushes on the pinkish part in the middle.

Because Spencer's team won, we went back for the next game.

Autumn made this poster to hold up & cheer him and his team on. They ended up winning again, which is again bittersweet. We're happy they won, but that means we have the final championship game next weekend.

Pam is in town visiting for a personal trial she has going on up here. She wanted to see the baby, so Autumn & I left Spencer's game a little bit early so we could go over and say hi. She was so excited to meet and love on Baby Alisa.

Nate & his crew came over too, and we all had pizza for dinner. Autumn & I didn't stay long b/c I had to leave to go to a dance show w/ Liz.

Tanya (a lady from our ward who has a daughter in the flag core) came and sat by us during intermission. There is so much talent at our local high school, and the show tonight was no exception. The drill team & flag core did a great job.

WHEW! What a day! When I got home, I dropped into bed and slept like a baby (until Baby Alisa started crying and woke me up ... LOL).
