Single Adult Conference ~ Day 01

Today started out really bad. I got the kids off to seminary & school and then I got ready for the day and was up at the church around 8:30 am to start a BUSY day. When I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed one of the church windows was broken! I went inside and found this. Someone had broken in and must have been looking for money b/c the doors to all the Bishop's & clerk's offices had been pried open. However, nothing was missing that we could tell. I called the Stake President and he rushed over to check it out and file a police report. It made me so sad that someone would do this, but it could have been so much worse. Luckily they didn't ruin any of the walls or paintings or our stuff in the church. No one was hurt, and they weren't still there when people were there (a mother's group w/ kids was playing basketball in the back half of the gym).

I didn't get a lot of pictures today b/c I was so busy setting up for the Single Adult conference and I was also working. Frank sent me these pics of Alisa out on a walk.

This one melted my heart. I love these 2 so much my heart could burst!

The Young Women's room was our command central. This is the photo backdrop for the Italian night dinner tomorrow. My boss called at 3:00 saying that I needed to get the payroll check printed and to our payroll person ASAP b/c Monday is a bank holiday. I was freaking out b/c there was still so much to do at the church. But I rushed home, printed the check, our payroll person's assistant came and picked it up at my house, I showered, and rushed back to the church.

People started arriving at 6:30 and we had yard/outside games going on. We had planned on doing this evening out at the pavilion, but the weather was rainy and cold so we had to move it into the gym. There was corn hole, a rubber chicken launch, and lots of desserts.

I stole this pic from someone else b/c I left my phone w/ Autumn in case of emergency. At 8:00 Brent Brunson did a concert for us. He's the #1 George Strait tribute guy in America. He knows a lady that's on the committee, so we got super lucky to have him come to perform.

After his concert, there was karaoke set up in the Relief Society room. Earlier in the day, we had moved all the couches into the RS room to make it feel more homey & fun. There were 4 microphones set up with props, so it was legit and the singles LOVED it! We could have just done karaoke all night and they would have been good with it. We finally shut that down at 11:00 so we could get set up for the workshops and events going on tomorrow. I got home around 12:30 and my feet hurt so bad I wanted to cry.

That is scary about the break in! Glad no one was hurt or anything else was hurt! Your conference sounds awesome, but so much work! Bless you! Your little angel is getting so big and is adorable!
