It was my birthday on Monday, but I didn’t take the day off b/c I wanted to take today off instead and spend the day w/ Mom & Jana & Jill. Autumn & I slept in for about a 1/2 hour and then got up and got ready like normal. She wanted me to take her picture by the fence, and then pulled this silly face. I dropped her off at daycare and went over to Mom & Dad’s. Mom was making Texas waffles for breakfast and then fried potatoes and onions from the shrimp boil left overs from last night. It was super tasty.
Mom, Jana & Jill got cleaned up and we left the house at 9:30 to take Jana & Jill to get facials. Neither of them have ever had one before, so Mom wanted to treat them to one. Jill went first, so the 3 of us had an hour to waste. We decided to walk around downtown. I am just obsessed w/ this wall, so I made them sit down and they started laughing and pretended to be having an important conversation.
We went and got a red velvet cupcake and a slice of cheesecake from a cute little bakery. It was actually cold outside (58 degrees), which Mom & I were LOVING. We sat outside on a bench and enjoyed our treats.
When Jill’s hour was done, Jana went in for her turn. We shared the cupcake and cheesecake w/ Jill & then sat and talked while Jill put on her make up. I was trying to be sneaky and take her & Mom’s picture in the mirror, but Jill saw me and covered up her face. But, Mom grabbed her hand so I could get a picture.
This is the cute room where Melanie did their facials. I love the exposed brick wall. I also love all these amazing women. Aren’t they all gorgeous?
Melanie insisted on taking a picture w/ me in it, too, since I’m not in very many pictures.
We went and met the guys at 12:30 at a Brazilian restaurant for lunch. The waiters come around w different types of meats on huge knives and if you want some, they put it on your plate. They also had a really exotic salad bar. Nick was going to come eat w/ us, but was doing home teaching. My favorite part was the grilled pineapple and fried bananas that you are supposed to eat to cleanse your pallet. We were all so stuffed we felt like we were going to have to be rolled out of the restaurant. After we ate, we all sat and talked and laughed for a while.
They guys went to do their thing and we went to do ours. We went to Lane Bryant to check out a sale they were having. It must have been pretty picked over, b/c there wasn’t much to choose from. Jill got a pair of jeans, Jana got a shirt, Mom got a shirt, and I got a matching pajama top and bottom. Then we went to the $1 Jewelry Store and only Jana & I went in. I found a lot of good stuff that was SOOOOO me. Thank goodness it’s just $1 each! We ran to WalMart to get a new razor for Uncle Keith b/c he forgot his razor charger at home. We of course ended up w/ way more than we had planned on. Next, we stopped by my house so they could see what it looks like.
By this time, it was already 4:00 so we stopped and got Autumn from daycare. It warmed my heart to look in the back seat and see her between two ladies that I love and admire so much. They were having a good old time in the back seat just talking and laughing.
We went to Mom & Dad’s house and kept working on the puzzle. We were finally able to finish it, which was an accomplishment b/c this was a hard puzzle.
While we were doing the puzzle, we also had Pirates of the Caribbean 4 on. Uncle Keith was so cute w/ Autumn and was answering all of her “why” questions. Why is that mermaid mean? Why is that mermaid nice? Why do they have sharp teeth? Why is she doing that? The questions were non-stop and he was so cute w/ her. He pulled her pants down over her feet, held her legs together, and was moving her legs up and down so she could pretend to be a mermaid.
Aunt Jana & Jill were painting their fingernails, so Autumn went over and wanted to have her toenails painted. I went to take a picture and was surprised to see her sitting up on the table! LOL.
Since we had finished the other puzzle, we started this new one. Autumn wanted to help, and I usually don’t let her b/c she tends to lose pieces. But, Aunt Jill was so sweet and loving and let Autumn help.
Since we had had such a huge lunch, we weren’t starving but were a little hungry. So, we made wanton salad. Like Mom always says, “Many hands make light work.” Dad & Rick & Keith went out to one of the clinics so Dad could open up an abscess for a family friend. We watched the Rangers game and then it was 8:30 before I knew it, so I brought Autumn home so she could go to bed. I watched the last 1/2 hour of Project Runway and then Project Accessory. I am happy that Anja won, but I LOVED Viktor’s prints (but not the black sheer stuff like the judges said).
It was so fun to have the day off of work and just spend time w/ some of my favorite ladies. I am sad that Aunt Jeri & Rufio couldn’t be here as well. Tomorrow is going to be full of memory making, too.
