Today at work, Mom called and said Dad had made plans for us and to hurry home after work. I got home and we loaded in the car and went to Trail Dust where we met up w/ Aunt Sandy & her family, including Uncle Rich & Aunt Cassie & Jennie and her girls. Mom made all the little kids happy and brought them all Kinder Eggs straight from Germany. She said that she got hung up in customs at the airport yesterday. They weren’t going to let her bring the Kinder Eggs into the country b/c they said they have small parts and are therefore a choking hazard to children! Isn’t that crazy? They finally let her through after detaining her for a while, but warned her that we had to throw away the little toys inside the Kinder Eggs. Lame!
Trail Dust is so fun b/c they have this big huge slide that the kids can go down, and it abruptly ends so that you slide across the wooden floor for a little ways.
At first, it was just the kids going down it over and over and over while us adults talked and ordered the food. Then, Dad came over and got in on the action. I adore this picture b/c of Dad’s and Jamie’s expressions. I also love how Jamie’s hair is sticking up all over as they go flying down the slide.
Even Tyler tried out the slide w/ Peyton. It was fun to see him going down the slide in his fancy work slacks and button up shirt (he came to the restaurant straight from work).
The kids started getting creative after about the 38th time going down. They started putting their hands in the air, closing their eyes, etc.
The food was good, but kind of pricey. That atmosphere was great and we had a wonderful time talking and laughing w/ each other. I’m really thankful that we live so close to extended family. It was nice having Aunt Sandy’s brother, sister-in-law, niece, and rand nieces there. They’re such great people and even though we’re only related by marriage, we consider them part of our extended family b/c we love them so much.
We were there for 2 hours and I was shocked by how entertained the kids were with that slide. I thought they would lose interest in it after a little bit, but they ate and then would go slide and then come back to eat some more and then go slide some more. Here’s our Fabulous Family Photo.
We just had to get a pic of all the cute cowboy boots that everyone was wearing. I’m sad none of the guys were wearing a tie, b/c at Trail Dust they make a big deal of coming around and cutting any ties in half. But, we still had a blast nonetheless. We came home and I watched TMZ and then Whose Line with Nick. I’m not just celebrating a birthDAY. It’s going to be a birthWEEK celebration! WOO HOO!
