Great Deal Saturday

P1030758 This morning Autumn & I woke up and had a leisurely breakfast.  Mom called around 9:30 to see what our plans were for the day.  I mentioned how I had wanted to go to the temple, but Nick was working this morning so I wasn’t going to go.  She so generously offered to watch Autumn so I could go.  I haven’t been in what feels like a long time b/c the temple was closed for 2 weeks for cleaning.  It was a good session and there were 27 women and only 7 men!  I was surprised at how busy the temple was since there were hardly any parking spaces.  I don’t know if there was a wedding going on or if the temple is usually that busy on Saturdays and I just don’t know it b/c I usually go to an early morning session.

P1030759When I was leaving, I drove past this alleyway and had to park in someone’s driveway to go back and get a picture.  The blue & purple flowers on this vine were just GORGEOUS!

11.12 clothes  After the temple, I went straight to my 2:00 appointment to have my nails done.  One of them cracked horizontally right down the middle the other day, plus they were really grown out and I know I won’t have another Saturday free for at least 2 more weeks.  After getting my nails done, I have to stop in at Once Upon A Child to see what they have.  Just like any consignment shop, I can sometimes find incredible deals and other times I don’t find anything.  Today, I hit the jackpot.

One: A size 14 Christmas dress, which won’t fit Autumn for quite a few years, but before I know it, she’ll blink and be big enough to wear it.  I couldn’t pass this up b/c when she’s old enough to wear this dress I know that Christmas dresses like this would cost at least $40.  Plus, it has a built in jacket so it’s modest for only $8.50!
Two: A size 8 light pink spring dress w/ white lace overlay for only $4.50!
Three:  A size 8 (although it is super long so I don’t know if that’s really right) formal Christmas dress w/ toile skirt underneath for volume for $9.50.
Four:  They rarely have pajamas in Autumn’s size and if they do, they’re usually really expensive (like $8 and up).  But, I found 3 cute light sleeper dresses like this for only $2.50 each.
Five:  Black shoes on the left in a 13.5 size (brand new) for $3.50.  Brown shoes in middle in a 13 size (brand new) for $5.50.  Black shoes on the right in a 1.5 size for $3.50.  Nice church shoes like that in the store are at least $12 or more.  Since Autumn only wears a 12.5 size now, I am going to save these shoes and give them to her for Christmas.
Six:  Casual size 8 dress that she can wear to school for $3.50.  It is a size 8, but fits her already b/c she’s a tall girl for her age.
Seven:  This one was what I consider my worst deal b/c it was $6.50, but it screamed my name to get it for Autumn.  I can’t wait to see her in it w/ her cowboy boots.  It’s corduroy and so much cuter in person than this picture makes it look.
Eight:  Size 10 light pink and black tweed jacket w/ fuzzy pink lining for $10.00.

I realize most of these clothes are way too big for Autumn to wear now, but I like to buy something ahead of time if I find a good deal instead of having to buy something right when Autumn needs it b/c then I usually have to buy it in a regular store and it’s triple the price.

P1030763 By the time I was done there, it was 3:30 and Mom called to tell me to stop and pick up some KFC b/c everyone was hungry.  Mom & Dad were over at my house so Dad could fix a few things to get it ready for new renters.  Nick had a little issue at work where they asked him to do something he didn’t know how to do and had an anxiety/panic attack.  Plus, he locked his keys in his car and while he was sitting outside waiting for Mom to bring him the spare set a bird pooped on him!  Poor guy!  So, we all sat down at my kitchen table together to eat dinner.  I love having everyone over at my house.  After Mom & Dad left, Autumn wanted to sing and asked us to get out the karaoke machine.  She mostly just yelled into the microphone, and Nick & I sang to our heart’s content (with a little Seinfeld on in the background).

P1030769 I am really not liking that it gets dark so early.  I feel like it’s time for bed and then I look at the clock and it’s only 7:00!  I needed to run a few errands so Autumn & I got in the car and off we went.  We stopped by the new house to drop off a check to the lady that’s living there now b/c I am buying some furniture from her.  I got a great deal on it and will definitely take some pictures and post them once we move into the house (which will hopefully be the week of Thanksgiving).  Then we stopped at McDonald’s so I could use the internet and Autumn could play and have a $1 cone.  I told her if she was good for Mom & Dad while I was gone then she could have a treat.  I don’t know how, but she manages to always get it on her lips and around her mouth.

P1030770Next up was a stop at WalMart to get the ingredients to make funeral potatoes for a Single Adult fireside tomorrow night.  Autumn was a good helper and would put what we needed in the cart for me and then ride on it while I pushed her around.  We came home and I put her to bed b/c it was 9:00 and then put away groceries and worked on my MPLife until way too late.  I’m going to be tired tomorrow for sure!
