We had quite the crazy and non-stop day today. We got up early so we could go to church at 9:00. I remember that I wasn’t too thrilled about having to switch from the 9:00 slot to 1:00 slot, but since I had to wake up early today I’m kind of glad we have the 1:00 slot. Miss Autumn was doing her “thang” and striking her diva pose in her new dress I got her yesterday.
We went to the church so we could see Baby Jacob’s baby blessing. I had tears just rolling down my cheeks b/c Liberty did such an AMAZING job. Also, it seems like just last year that he was getting baptized (even though it’s really been 3 1/2 years) and here he is giving his baby a blessing. It was so touching and just made me so happy for Liz & Liberty. It was neat to have all of her family there together.
What a cute family portrait. Baby Jacob looked so handsome in his outfit. He was such a good baby and slept through the whole blessing and sacrament meeting. I am so lucky to have them as friends.
I had Liberty get a picture of Autumn & I all dressed up in our Sunday best.
We came home and Autumn played w/ her dolls while I made 2 pans of funeral potatoes and put them in the fridge to be cooked later. I also cleaned out my closet a little bit of clothes I don’t wear anymore so I can give them to Goodwill before the big move. Before I knew it, it was time to get ready to go to our ward at 1:00. Autumn changed into another new dress, so I did her hair in braids. This is the first time I’ve attempted a fish bone braid and I think it looked pretty cool when I was done.
Church was good and then we rushed home and I got all the stuff I needed for the fireside tonight and went over to Mom & Dad’s house and I had to drop Autumn off and run. I went to the stake center and helped set up for the meal & fireside tonight. This is one of the multi-colored cornucopias that we found at Hobby Lobby the other night.
Then we also found these big metal leaves and filled them w/ Reese’s pieces b/c they’re a fall colored candy. The dinner was really nice w/ turkey, funeral potatoes, corn, green beans, rolls, gravy, etc. It was a full on Thanksgiving feast. Then Bro. Hinckley talked to us about praying and how we get answers to our prayers. It was really good. After it was over, everyone pitched in and helped clean up the food, decorations, tables, etc. I was impressed b/c it was all done in less than 10 minutes. Like Mom always says, “many hands make light work.” I helped wash dishes in the kitchen (which looked like a small tornado had gone through) and they sent me home w/ 2 HUGE cans of corn and a can of green beans, b/c no one else wanted them and they were going to throw them away.
I stopped to drop off all the food at Mom & Dad’s and to pick up Autumn. We got home at 9:30 and I put her right to bed since we had a big day today and tomorrow is a school day. Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but today was just non-stop. It was a really good day, though.
