Our First Supper

Mom called while I was at work to tell me we couldn’t go over to their house tonight b/c they had the carpet in the family room cleaned.  So, Mom got some rotisserie chicken, bread, salad & yellow squash & zucchini for dinner.  We got to eat dinner at our house for the first time.  It was good food and was a lot of fun.  We’ll have to do this more often.

After dinner, Mom & Dad both had out their iPhones & were playing on them.  When I went to take a picture, they decided to kiss so I couldn’t catch them playing w/ their phones.  So sneaky!

But, I was sneakier and was able to get a picture.  Nick & I were laughing about how odd it is that Mom & Dad were the ones using their cell phones at the dinner table instead of us.

After dinner, Dad went home to work on the schedule but Mom stayed here since she couldn’t go in the front room to watch TV b/c the carpet was still wet.  So, she stayed here to help us put up our Christmas tree.  She was shocked at how ghetto out tree is and said it’s barely a step above the Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  So, we went shopping to see if we could find one.  We went to the Container Store first so I could pick up this shoe tree.  I don’t usually shop at the Container Store b/c I thought it was too expensive.  But, Mom had one of these and I thought it was a great idea.  They had a sale on this, but didn’t have it in stock so they told me I could buy it last week when I was there for the sale price (in case the price went back up before they got one in stock) and then they would email me when it was delivered to their store.  I was very impressed w/ their customer service & will be going there in the future for sure.

Next we went to Big Lots to find a tree, but didn’t find anything.  Then we went to WalMart b/c we had a bunch of other things to get like a shower rod for the guest bathroom, etc.  I suggested to Autumn that we go take a picture next to the toys she wants Santa to make for her so that we can email them to him.  Little does she know…Santa has already “made” them.  She was happy Rosy Posy was along for the ride too so she could also report to Santa what Autumn wanted.

So, it will be fun to see her face on Christmas morning when she gets what was in these pictures.  It will also be fun for her to look back at these pictures in 5 years or 10 years to see what gifts she wanted when she was younger. 

We found some GREAT solutions for my organization problems in my shower.  I don’t have anywhere to put my shampoo or condition or body wash.  I didn’t want to get one of those organizers that you hang on the shower neck b/c that puts too much pressure on that pipe and can break it.  I couldn’t use one of those corner organizers b/c my ceiling is too tall.  Enter the Mainstays Hanging Bathroom Shower Caddy.  I just hang it over the glass of my corner shower and it works GREAT!  Problem solved.

We got home and it was way past Autumn’s bed time so I put her to bed and then worked on unpacking.  I am almost done and have just a few boxes left to put away.  I stayed up too late watching shows on the Style network.
