I was kind of a grouchy pants today after work. I had to rush to pick Autumn up from “college”, run home, put some taco soup and fixins’ together and rush those over to the girl I visit teach that just had a baby. I was happy to do that for her, but was stressed b/c Autumn wasn’t listening & started this hacking cough and I knew I needed to hurry home b/c Lexie & Andrew & Jackson were coming over to par-tay. We ate dinner and Mom was so thoughtful and sent a bunch of treats over w/ Lexie. Mom & Dad were having some people over that Dad works w/ to share the Forgotten Carols. Since he likes to have it be a reverent and spiritual experience, kids aren’t allowed which is why Lexie & the boys came over to our house. After we ate, we set the kids up in my room to watch their Christmas DVDs (like Frosty the Snowman & Rudolph). Autumn was a good girl and did a breathing treatment while watching the movies.
Lexie & i were going to watch Mrs. Santa Claus or The Help. We chose The Help b/c Lexie hadn’t seen it yet (shocking, I know)! She liked it, from what she was able to watch. We kept getting interrupted by the kids needing something or Jackson fussing. I miss my single days when I could just pop in a movie and watch it w/ no interruptions, but I wouldn’t change this stage of my life for anything. I love that we have kids and are needed. Plus, it doesn’t matter what we are doing…I just like being able to spend time w/ Lexie. it was a super fun evening and I was sad when they had to leave to go home so the kids could go to bed. We need to plan more sister time together.
