Rufio Is In Da House

This morning Autumn woke up w/ a really bad hacking cough, so I called Mom & Dad to see if they could keep her for me today since I didn’t want to take her to daycare and get the other kids there sick.  Plus, that way they could give her breathing treatments throughout the day.  They said that was fine, so we got ready and I went over and dropped her off so I could go to work.  Mom bought Grandma Ruth (I call her Rufio) a plane ticket to come for a week as her Christmas gift.  Mom & the kids went to McDonald’s for lunch and then went out to the airport to get Rufio around noon.  Lexie said they had fun playing hide & seek w/ Great Grandma Ruth and we are so glad she can be here to spend Christmas with us.

When I got home from work, Autumn was asleep and was a bear when she woke up.  I gave her a breathing treatment and she kept saying her lips hurt b/c I guess she had pulled some of the chapped skin off.  So, Rufio said she had some good “whip-stick” that Autumn could use on her lips.  Autumn is all about getting to wear lipstick (she used to call it whip stick) and was so glad Rufio was willing to share.

Rufio is such a neat & classy lady and I am so thankful that Autumn gets the chance to know her and interact w/ her and create memories.  I don’t remember my great grandparents very well, so this means a lot to me.  I have such a special love and bond w/ Rufio and am glad Autumn gets to share in that too.

I had to eat dinner & run b/c I had a Single Adult committee meeting.  Since the stake presidency changed, we now meet w/ Pres. Fisher instead of Pres. Jones.  Pres. Fisher had a lot of good & inspired ideas but pretty much scrapped all the plans we had for our fireside in February.  So, Pete & Nancy & I are going to have to meet again and iron out the details of our February fireside.

After that, I rushed home to grab some fudge I had made last night, the Christmas photo booth stuff, and my camera.  I went over to Sis. Lee’s house b/c she was having a YW’s party for any of the girls that wanted to come.  I was late getting there b/c of my Single Adult meeting.  They were watching Polar Express and had a ton of snacks and treats.  I didn’t stay for very long b/c Nick was bringing Autumn home and I needed to get her into bed.  I need to start going to bed earlier b/c I have got some MAJOR dark circles under my eyes in the picture from last night of Lexie & I watching The Help.
