After work I rushed to get Autumn from daycare and we went to Mom & Dad’s house and had crock pot spaghetti (SO GOOD) that Mom had made. I was scarfing down food when Liz & Liberty came to have me take their Christmas pictures. I feel sooooo honored that they would ask me to take such an important picture for them. I’m always stressed & worried about not getting a good picture, but we were able to get one. This isn’t the one they chose, but I don’t want to post that & spoil it for Liz’s Mom. This one made me laugh b/c Baby Jacob looks like he’s thinking, “I don’t know about these two yahoos. Are you SURE they’re my parents?” LOL! I’m glad we got one that they liked.
I felt bad about eating & running, but Autumn & I had to get to the church for Homemaking. The theme of the evening was “T’is the ‘C’eason” b/c we had cookies, cocoa, & crepes. This was the cocoa station and it was all wonderful. At the end, they had a young man in the ward w/ a beautiful voice come and sing a few songs.
I was asked to share the tradition I started a few years ago of having people write letters to Dad as his Christmas gift. I just typed up a little handout explaining how I do it and who I ask. One lady came up to me afterwards and said that she has been doing this for 14 years for her Mom! Now that I’m thinking about it, I think I originally heard the idea from her at another Christmas party a few years ago. I told her I’ll have to pick her brain about how she’s done it for 14 years b/c after a few years I’m already running out of of ideas of who I can ask.
Anyways, it was a great night and Autumn had a blast in the nursery where they had some of the young women come and watch the kids so us Moms could enjoy ourselves. The girls said Autumn was really good. After that, we came home and I put her to bed and watched some TV before calling it a night.
