Today after work/school, we went over to Mom & Dad’s house and had some fun visitors. Lex & Jon & Andrew & Jackson came to visit for the weekend. It is Jon & Andrew’s birthdays this month so we had a little birthday party. Mom made lasagna from scratch b/c it’s Jon’s favorite. It was super good. After we ate dinner, it was time for dessert and celebrating. Mom got this cake for Jackson and wrote the words on it w/ blue gel. We also had variety cheesecake for Jon.
We had to keep the cake away from Jackson while we sang to him, b/c he kept wanting to touch the candle.
Mom cut some pieces of the cake for us to eat and then gave the rest of it to Jackson to make a mess. The frosting was really thick and he wasn’t doing much w/ the cake. So then Mom cut up some of the cake and put it on his tray. He got a little more daring w/ the cake.
He wasn’t getting messy enough, so Mom literally took matters into her own hands and started smearing it all over him. We got a picture of her caught in the act.
The poor kid was COVERED, but didn’t seem to mind and had fun smearing it on his tray. We gave him a bath in the sink and got the mess all cleaned up.
Mimi laid down on the floor to play w/ Jackson and the other kids saw how much fun they were having and wanted to wrestle. We were telling Jackson to get all of them. His little face looks so cute and determined.
I don’t know if most kids do this or not, but he is obsessed w/ Emma’s chew sticks! So, rather than have him chew on one of her old nasty ones, Lexie just gave in trying to hide them from him and gave him a new one. Even though she would hide the yucky ones, he would always seem to find one. We spent the evening just talking and laughing and watching the Olympics. I love spending time w/ my fabulous family.
