My internal clock is set to wake up at 7:00, so even though it was a Saturday and I could sleep in, my body woke up at 7:00 and I couldn’t go back to sleep. Dad was awake b/c he was going to the temple to see one of his previous Seminary students go through the temple. I went and laid down by Mom and we were soon joined by the kids who wanted to watch cartoons.
We had breakfast, made cake batter rice crispie treats, made pasta salad, and cut up veggies for a veggie tray. Then we loaded the 3 kids into the car and headed to Tyler’s house for his & Uncle Robert’s birthday party. Lexie & Jon had the day to themselves to do whatever they wanted. We had a huge spread of food to eat, and then most of the people went outside to swim. Mom & I stayed inside to keep an eye on Jackson. After a few hours, everyone came inside and we did presents. I know that I am so lucky to live close to family and try not to ever take that for granted. I love that we get together so often to celebrate and have fun.
We came home around 4:00 and just spent the evening eating and talking and watching the Olympics, and Lexie and I started and finished this puzzle. It was hard b/c it was so busy and we had to look at the picture on the box to find where every piece went. I have to mention that I am LOVING my shorter haircut. Josh did such a great job and I have yet to have a bad hair day since the haircut. I got Autumn to bed and we stayed up to watch Michael Phelps and the American team win gold in the relay. Then everyone went to bed and I stayed up to edit pictures and also watched last Thursday’s recorded Project Runway.
