Tonight when we got over to Mom & Dad’s for dinner, this scarecrow was leaning against the basketball pole. Dad said to take a picture of it if I wanted to, b/c he was throwing it away. This scarecrow has such a history with us! He created it back in the early 1990’s when we were stationed at Ft. Hood. He had wired it to where it sounded like there was someone in the scarecrow. He would be hidden in the house, and when a little kid would walk up to knock on the door, he’d say, “Why hello there, Batman. How are you doing this evening?” It was so fun to see the look of shock & surprise on the parent’s & kid’s faces. He’d also scare the crap out of some of the older kids. Good memories! It’s sad to see the scarecrow go, but we haven’t used it in at least a decade.
Liz had told me about ice cream slushes at Sonic w/ their new flavors & how delicious they were. So, Autumn & I stopped at Sonic on our way home to give them a try. She got Miami Sunrise & I (OF COURSE) had to get Polynesian Punch. They were super good & hit the spot! Since the sun was still out (I love Spring) we stopped at some duck ponds to watch the ducks, watch people catching fish, and just run around and have fun. After Autumn finished her drink, she had me time her on my phone as she ran to a certain point & back. This is such a fun age (most of the time).
We had to walk across the street so I could get a picture of the gorgeous flowers in someone’s yard. I have not done any editing or filters on this photo … the flowers were really this bright & vibrant. Love it!
We finally headed home once the sun started going down. Autumn, on her own, said that we needed to go & put away the neighbor’s trash cans that were out on the curb. She’s turned into the Kerry Johnson of our neighborhood, and I couldn’t be prouder! What a cute little bug!!!
After I got her to sleep, Liz came over at 9:00 & we talked until 11:30!!! She’s such a wonderful friend.
