Forts & Kid Mania

I had to go into work today, but it was SO SLOW that my bosses let me go home at noon!  WOOT WOOT!  I got home and had some lunch & then I helped the kids to build a fort.  I’d say I’m pretty much a master fort builder.  Just look at this masterpiece!

After a few hours of that, the kids were getting restless & crazy, so I told them to get their coats & shoes on so we could go somewhere fun.  Lexie & I were going to take them to see Annie, but it was sold out when we got there even though we were there 30 minutes before the movie started!  The movie theater was PACKED.  Autumn suggested Kid Mania, so that’s where we went.  The best way to describe it is like McDonald’s on steroids.  They have a HUGE play area/jungle gym/obstacle course thing for kids.  Even adults were in there playing & having fun.

After an hour of running & playing the kids were hot & tired & hungry so we ordered a big pizza for everyone to share.  As a Mom, I really appreciated that Kid Mania had free cups & water for the kids to get, instead of charging everyone for bottled water.  After the kids ate & were rehydrated they were ready for round 2 of playing.  Even Lexie went & crawled around in the play place for a while.  She said it was a great workout.

We finally called it a day after 2 1/2 hours!  I saw that they had a photo booth, so we went over to get our pics taken.  All 5 of us tried squeezing into that little teeny tiny photo booth, but as you can see we didn’t all fit so we just smooshed together & made it work.  You can’t really tell, but they the last photo it was so humid & steamy in there from the kids’ sweaty heads that the picture is foggy!  LOL!

We came home & had dinner, watched some TV, and then when the kids were in bed Lexie & I busted out this BYU puzzle I got for her for Christmas.  We have so many good memories of being together at BYU for a semester before I went on my mission.

I ended up staying up until 1:00 am to finally watch the Downton Abbey Season 5 finale.  It was soooooo worth it. That will be fun to watch Season 5 all over again when it plays in January on PBS here in the states.
