Autumn & I got up this morning & went to the store to get her some black tights to wear to her cheer game today. We got to the park, and it was COLD!!! I had on this heavy sweatshirt, but I was still shivering. It was miserable.
We went down the hill to the field, and there was no wind and the weather was actually so pleasant down there that we all took off our layers of jackets & sweaters. I even got a little suntan. The girls did such a good job. They are tossing the flyers so much higher now.
Lining up for halftime. And yes, Autumn is by far the tallest girl on her team. GO AMAZON WOMAN!
Cheer huddle
Inside the huddle
After the game, the football coach gave Coach Gayle a gift basket that the parents had put together for her. Her Mom passed away last Saturday while Coach Gayle was at the football game coaching our cheerleaders. That was so thoughtful of the football parents to do!
Our girls handed out some cute Halloween treats to the football players. It was much appreciated, since our boys played hard but ended up losing the game.
1, 2, 3 ... GO LIONS!
We came home & rested for a few hours before we had to go to the Cheer Showcase. Since there aren't as many teams this year, there wasn't a competition. It was just a chance for each team to show off what they've done this year. Our girls were all lined up & ready for their turn.
Our awesome cheer section. Even though there weren't very many of us compared to other teams, we were SUPER loud!
Autumn was so happy that she got to be front & center to start off the cheer. It's b/c she's "sassy" when she dances & puts some pizzazz into it. I didn't take a lot of pictures, b/c I was cheering and they were so far away that the picture quality wasn't that great. They did SO GOOD & had a LOT of stunts that none of the other teams did.
It meant A LOT that the football coach came out to support our girls.
After it was all over, we all huddled around waiting for Coach Gayle b/c we had a surprise for her. (Notice the Sonic shakes in Autumn's bucket. Frank went to Sonic b/c it was so cold & he thought they had hot chocolate, but they didn't so he just got us chocolate shakes.)
Coach Marci had sent us an email asking if we could donate some gift cards to Coach Gayle since her Mom passed away. She put together this ADORABLE bouquet & we gave it to Coach Gayle to let her know we love her & appreciate her.
Group hug!
We were going to go to a Halloween party, but Frank got really sick & even had a fever. Plus, we were all wiped from the funeral on Thursday & needed some down time.
