A couple weeks ago a friend posted about a cute town they drove through on their way to a state park. I looked up the town online and immediately fell in love. So, to get out this weekend we decided to take the kids on an adventure. As soon as we pulled into the town, I fell in love with it. Our first stop was the gazebo in the town square. So quaint & charming.
Then we headed over to these cool retro stairs. It felt like the Brady Bunch. LOL
There were these cool quilt square blocks on several of the buildings. This one is outside an antique store.
Another cool staircase!
The details just slay me. So awesome!
I'm dying to know what this building used to be? Look at all the cool window shapes that have been since filled in with bricks. What stories could these old walls tell?
Pretty girl
On the other side of the town square were some old run-down buildings. This one reminded me of a saloon.
I even talked Frank into letting me take some pictures of him. WOWZA!
He's a natural! Be still my beating heart!!!
This picture just melts my heart! Frank & Alisa have such a special and tender bond.
Look at the awesome brick road with the silos in the background. This small town has my heart, but not as much as all the fabulous people in this picture.
John Deere type of gal
Striking that model pose
After all of those fun adventures, we continued on to Paris, Texas. None of us had ever been and we wanted to check out the Eifel Tower. It was pretty underwhelming and the kids were disappointed. You can see the tops of our heads almost hit the bottom arch of it, so it wasn't very big. But I'm still super glad we went so now we can say we've seen it.
We pulled over in the parking lot away from other people (social distancing) and had a picnic lunch. Sandwiches, chips, and drinks.
We saw this cool train station on the way out of town and stopped to let Alisa run around. The other kids were being stinkers and were DONE and just wanted to go home. Another picture of Frank & Alisa that just melts my Mama heart!
Now I can say that Frank has taken me to Paris (quietly whispers ... Texas)
Since Alisa was doling out the kisses today, I had to get one from her too. Daddy doesn't get all the baby girl affection.
Frank was so happy to see this big Dr. Pepper sign. He drinks Diet Dr. Pepper like it's going out of style! All in all, it was an awesome day even though the kids pooped out at the end.
