I love music

I don't know what it is about music, but it just has such an amazing way of describing exactly how I am feeling, or it brings back a flood of memories from a certain time in life. It's funny how smells and music can bring back memories in such a vivid way.

This morning on the way into work, I heard the song, "What Hurts The Most" by Rascal Flatts. I discovered that song a few weeks before the whole Jason issue, and after the whole Jason issue, it just helped me deal with all the pain and hurt. This morning when I heard it on the radio, it took me back to that time and place, and made me a little sad. But, I also realized how much I've changed since then, and that song is just a part of my past. It's like a comfortable old blanket that comforted me and helped me through a hard time.

Another song I love is "Everything" by Michael Buble. It's just such a happy and upbeat song. My favorite part is when it says, "And I get to kiss you baby, just because I can." That part always makes me smile and gives me hope for the day when I find someone that feels that way about me.

The song that helped me through a phase of closure and completion last week was One Republic's "Apologize." Such a good song! I BELT that song out in my car and can listen to it over and over at least 10 times in a row without getting sick of it. I love how it starts out kind of soft and quiet and by the end it's so loud and powerful. It makes me feel like I can conquer anything.

A song from my childhood that I love is, "Break My Stride" by Matthew Wilder. I remember living in SLC and driving around in our little blue Fiat and singing along to the radio with my Mom. I was only 4 at the time, but I remember that song. Good times.
