Happy 29th Birthday To Me!

I woke up this morning to this on the kitchen counter for breakfast...the BEST bread in the world. It tastes homemade, but it isn't. We call it brown bread, and Grandma Rufio is the one that got us hooked on it. She has it at her house all the time, so anytime I eat it, I think of her. It was such a fun way to start my birthday and was SO TASTY!

I wore my birthday crown at work today, and Liz & Liberty were so nice and made Alison and I cupcakes (Alison's birthday is on Sunday). The butter cream frosting and the butter pecan cupcake tasted SO GOOD together. Thank you so much, Liz & Liberty!

As you can see, Liz really really enjoyed the frosting.

"Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us..."

Alison and I got off early today at 2:30. I wasn't going to get Autumn until the usual time, but Dad said he would watch her. She wanted him to wear my birthday crown! So funny.

Since he offered to watch her, we took him up on his offer. We went to Sam Moon's (Alison had given me a gift card there, and it was already burning a whole in my pocket after 6 hours!) I got some great stuff. Then we stopped at Market Street and got one of my favorite foods...Penne Dolcelatta! SO AMAZING! I savored every single bite. YUM!

Lex, Jon, and Andrew drove up from Austin to spend the weekend. Andrew and Autumn had fun together playing outside (Autumn is wearing her "ant" hat from school).

We played Mexican Train dominoes and Autumn, Andrew, and Emma decided they needed to help Dad. I thought this picture was so funny b/c of the three little heads barely showing above the table.

Having fun together!

We died laughing after this picture...I told Lexie to take a picture of Dad and I, but in the picture I totally had the triple-chin-thing going on. So, I told her to take another one. Right as she took the picture, Dad reached over and held up my triple chin and we started laughing. Then Lexie said I can now say on my birthday, "my mom wore my crown and my Dad held my gizzard (like on a turkey)." I don't know why, but I thought that was the funniest thing ever and just died laughing! I have the best family!

Lexie and Jon brought this cake up from Austin. It's from a place called The Cake Plate, and it is seriously the best cake I have ever had (and I have tried a lot of cakes in my life). Usually it is the frosting that I like the most on a cake, but not this one. The cake is the best part...it is so moist and scrumptious! I don't know if you can see right next to the "L" in Lisa, but there is a little part gone where Autumn stuck her finger in it. For the candles, we didn't have a 2 or a 9, so we used what we had and did 31 - 2 to equal 29. We used a folded up grocery bill receipt for the minus sign! LOL!

MAKE A WISH!!!

This is the birthday gift that I bought myself last Saturday. I found this elliptical on craigslist and Dad, Nick, Nate and I went and got it in the truck. Carrying it upstairs to the workout room was quite the task, but we did it. I have made myself use it everyday this week, even if it was just for 5 minutes. 5 minutes was all I could do at first, and my thighs were BURNING! But I used it tonight and was able to do it fairly easily! YEAH! I'm excited about using it everyday to start being healthier!

HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Sounds like you had a great day. To bad we don't live closer to celebrate our birthdays together. Well we will always have that Cali trip to remember our birthday celebration in 05! LOL

Happy Belated Birthday!! I love splurging on myself on my bday. It makes me happy. Although I usually use my splurge FAR away from anything exercise related. lol.

Good luck with your commitment to be healthier and stay motivated!
