Day With Don

So I have to clear something up so no one thinks anything bad happened…Don had to spend the night b/c the roads last night were too scary to drive on. But it was all on the up & up and he slept upstairs in the work out room. Anyways, we all got up this morning and Dad cooked us a nice breakfast of sausage, eggs, and toast, b/c Mom leaves for Utah today and he wanted her to have a nice breakfast.

I was going to go into work today at noon once the ice on the roads had melted, but Autumn’s daycare was closed today and Mom couldn’t watch her for me b/c she was on a plane to Utah. But, I had to go into work for just a little bit to get a few things done for payroll and Don was so cute w/ Autumn (sorry the picture is blurry) and helped her draw me pretty pictures while I got those few things done. It was so nice of him to do, b/c otherwise she would have wanted my undivided attention and I wouldn’t have been able to get anything done. He usually has school today, but all his classes got cancelled b/c of the bad weather, so we got to spend the whole day together. :D

We went to McDonald's to get some lunch and let Autumn play on the playground. He was so cute w/ her and sat her between him and I while we ate our lunch. Then we went over to his apartment for a little bit, and Autumn loved being able to explore a new place. She went up and down the stairs about 10 times.

She thought she was hot stuff when she was able to move this step stool and climb up on it all by herself. Look at that facial expression!

She also liked sitting on the couch and acted as if she owned the place. What a kid! She started getting restless, so we went on a walk around Don’s apartment complex. It is a photographer’s dream! There are so many cool textures and places to take neat pictures. Autumn wasn’t really wanting to cooperate today, so I’ll have to try and get some cool shots another day.

Here is a plant that was out in an open courtyard. As you can see, it was very icy yesterday and was still icy even in the afternoon today.

I thought this picture was cool. Look at how thick those icicles are!

This was also in that same open courtyard and Autumn had a blast running around on the rocks.

Don was so cute and so attentive to Autumn when she wanted to show him little things she found.

After walking around for a while, we went up on the roof. As you can see, there is an AMAZING view of downtown Dallas. Autumn had so much fun running around a picnic table up there while Don chased her around. She actually fell on her butt and got her white pants filthy dirty not to mention she already had some brown stuff on her butt from sitting in some soggy cherrios in her car seat. So, we went to Ross and bought her some clean pants, b/c I wasn’t prepared and didn’t bring an extra change of clothes.

Then we headed over to the mall to walk around. We went to Anthropologie and bought this candle. It is kind of expensive, but it smells AH-MAAAAZING!

Then we went over to this little pond area where they had turtles and baby ducks. Autumn LOVED it and Don was so cute w/ her and was right by her side to make sure she didn’t fall in or get hurt.

After that, we had to bribe Autumn to leave, so I told her we would go get a cookie, and that worked to get her to leave the ducks. We got some cookies and she had to try a few bites out of each one.

After that, Autumn was getting tired and so we went back to the car and drove back to the office and dropped Don off so he could get his car and go home. It was such a nice day of having fun and spending the day with Don.
