This morning we woke up and had breakfast and then played Apples To Apples. I LOVE that game, and Aunt Jeri won!
After that we got out a puzzle, but it ended being up way too hard, so we gave up after putting together the border and put it away!
Autumn went down for a nap, so Lex & I went on a walk around the neighborhood. It was so nice to be away from the kids and just talk to her. I miss our long talks we used to have when we both lived at home. It was fun to just be Lisa & Lexie as sisters instead of Autumn and Andrew’s moms. When we got home, Mom had ordered pizza for lunch. So much for burning lots of calories on our walk…we just ate them all back in the form of pizza. But just being able to talk to Lex and spend time w/ her was definitely the best part.
We found these cool looking things on our walk. I picked up a few to get a picture of them. They kind of look like spiky walnuts. I thought they looked awesome.
I went and picked Nick up from work, which was nice b/c I opened the sun roof, rolled down the windows and BLASTED my music. I love driving and just thinking about life. Anyways, when I got back Autumn and woken up and wanted to go outside to play. Dad has been working hard for the past week on this addition to the fort for the grandkids to play on. I think he did a GREAT job and they LOVE IT!
They had fun playing w/ the new section of the fort and were hanging on it and climbing up and down the stairs.
This weed was down near one of the pillars of the fort and I thought it looked so cool w/ the green center and read and yellow tips.
Autumn has turned into quite the little monkey climber. I sat and watched as she climbed up to the highest part of the fort all by herself and then she went down a big old slide all by herself! I was actually kind of shocked that she could do all that by herself. I’m a proud mama that my baby is growing up and is so independent.
Andrew looked like he was having so much fun swinging that Lexie wanted in on the fun, too. Too bad that swing is a little too close to the ground and she had to hold her legs up like a frog just to swing!
Nick went over and was jumping on the trampoline. I told him to try and do a toe touch. This picture is what we got, but he landed on his butt b/c he said that hurt to try and do a toe touch and he thought he had pulled a groin muscle. We were all laughing so hard!
The kids wanted to play on the trampoline and Autumn attacked Nick and then Andrew attacked Autumn. They were all playing and laughing so hard.
Then they decided it was my turn. If you notice in the upper left hand corner of the picture, the trampoline is sagging near the edge. That’s b/c our trampoline is so old and has been exposed to the extreme Texas weather for so long that it is starting to fall apart. Nick went to get off right there, and the springs broke and the trampoline ripped a little!
After being outside for a while we wanted to start luring the kids back towards the house to go in. But they wanted to ride bikes first. Lexie rode around trying out Andrew’s bike. It’s just a little bit too small for her and Jon said she looked like the bear at the circus that rides around on a bike.
Autumn wanted in on the bike riding, too, but isn’t quite tall enough to reach the pedals yet so she just kind of scooted herself around like this.
Andrew is tall enough to reach the pedals on his bike, but was taking after Autumn and didn’t want to sit up on the seat, so he sat down on the middle bar and scooted himself around.
Jon also wanted to see if he could try and ride Andrew’s bike. Andrew wasn’t too happy about that.
The kids kept running around the pool and we could tell they wanted to get in. We told them they could go touch the water just to see how cold it was, and after that they didn’t want to get in anymore.
Andrew had a little bit of trouble trying to figure out which way to wear his helmet!
After all the fun it was time for naps, and then tonight we’re going to be relaxing in the hot tub!

Your cool spiky things are sweet gum tree seed pods. My mom used to have us collect them for her for craft projects. They look need in wreaths and dry arrangements.
