It was a typical Saturday morning around here. Autumn had cereal for breakfast, and we watched Little Einsteins.
Lately on one of the TV stations, Oliver!, the movie has been on, and Autumn LOVES that movie! When the commercials come on, she gets mad and looks at me and says, “More, Mama.” Anyways, this picture made me laugh b/c she looks like Oliver in the movie where he’s asking for more food!
We got dressed after a while so we could go over to Mom & Dad’s. I don’t know if you can see them in this picture, but she has FIVE different purses on her arm…the child is OBSESSED w/ purses and shoes and baby dolls and blankets. She’s such a girly girl and I’m SO GLAD! I probably won’t be glad about that when she’s older and wants expensive name brand stuff. But for now I’m glad she’s a cute little girl.
We stopped by Chipotle for lunch b/c Mom had a hankerin’ and you know what they say…you can’t deny a hankerin. I always get the bowl w/ extra rice, black beans, spicy barbacoa meat, sour cream, and cheese. Their rice is so delicious.
After we ate, we got all lathered up w/ sunscreen and then went outside and swam for about 3 hours. We had a cooling treat of push up popsicles…pretty sure that has to be the best summer treat ever.
After swimming, we were all worn out, so we took a nice afternoon nap. Then we were hungry, so had another great summer time treat…fried zucchini. It’s just zucchini dredged in eggs and cornflake crumbs that you then fry and put some salt on when they come out of the oil. I could eat about 30 of those!
And as you can tell from this picture…so can Autumn. I swear, this child has the weirdest tastes for a 2 year old. But I’m so glad that she likes vegetables.
We wanted to share the yummy-ness w/ Dad, and Autumn kept saying she wanted to see Papa, so we took some fried zucchini over to him at the clinic. She has been obsessed w/ utensils lately and takes all the spoons out of the drawer when we go to Mom & Dad’s. She was about to throw a fit when I told her to put them away, so I just let her take them w/ us in the car.
They are repainting the clinic to have an underwater theme, and I thought this bright blue on the walls was so pretty…especially against Autumn’s pretty brown skin.
She is SO SPOILED by Dad. He always takes her to the fridge in the back and gets her a juice box and then goes in the breakroom and gets her some candy out of the secret candy stash. What a cute pair they make!
We went back home and just hung out and watched TV. Guess what was on AGAIN that Autumn wanted to watch…Oliver! But, she also wanted to do some light reading, so she started reading Uncle Nick’s book that he just finished, Star Wars Darth Bane Death of Destruction.
At 9:30 we came back to our house and Dad helped me hang some pictures on the walls. Then at 10:00 we went and stood on the corner to watch the fireworks going off. Our city always has their big 4th of July Celebration a week before the 4th. Autumn loved the fireworks and yes…she’s wearing her pink cowboy boots.
The fireworks show was really good, but the finale was THE BEST I have ever seen (and I’ve seen more than my fair share of fireworks shows). There had to have been at least 60 of those big gold pom pom looking ones that went off all at once and then they did triple that of all different colored pom pom looking ones. Absolutely breathtaking. It was a fun day!
