WONDERFUL WOMEN

It’s 11:0o at night, and I am tired, but I HAD TO get out of my bed and come blog about this RIGHT AWAY! I was cleaning out my closet the other day and found some old Ensign’s. I was just going to throw them in the recycle bin, but I decided to keep a few of them. I decided to flip through one of them and read one article before going to bed. I happened to open to the article by Pres. Hinckley entitled, “To The Women Of The Church.” If you are a woman, I BEG YOU to read it! I started sobbing while reading some of the things he says. It will give you an instant shot of self esteem, happiness, the Spirit, and gratitude. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read it before going to bed tonight!

I have been praying really hard lately for someone that I have never met in person. She is starting to go down a path that I went down a little over 3 years ago and I am hoping and praying so hard that Heavenly Father will save her from that path of heartache and pain. I wish there were someway I could help her learn from my mistakes without having to experience them herself. But that is a choice she is going to have to make, and I sincerely pray that she makes the right choice before it’s too late and she ends up with a broken heart. I know for a fact that the person she is dating right now is still cheating on her while lying to her face about it. My heart breaks for her! While I read this article, I thought of her.

I also thought of Ashley and Mindi and what wonderful women they are. The part that touched my heart the most and brought buckets of tears to my eyes was this part:

“Now I speak to the single mothers whose burdens are so heavy because you have been abandoned or have been widowed. Yours is a terrible load. Bear it well. Seek the blessings of the Lord. Be grateful for any assistance that may come…to help you in your home or with other matters. Pray silently in your closest, and LET THE TEARS FLOW IF THEY MUST COME. But put a smile on your face whenever you are before your children or others.”

There have been so many nights when I’ve had to let the tears flow. And I am so thankful for the many people that have been placed in my life to help make those tears subside. Another paragraph that caught my attention was this one:

“You are hoping to catch that perfect man. I have yet to see one who is perfect. Aim high, but do not aim so high that you totally miss the target. What really matters is that he will love you, that he will respect you, that he will honor you, that he will be absolutely true to you, that he will give you freedom of expression and let you fly in the development of your own talents. He is not going to be perfect, but if he is kind and thoughtful, if he knows how to work and earn a living, if he is honest and full of faith, the chances are that you will not go wrong, that you will be immensely happy.”

For those of you lucky women who have a found a man like that, make sure you tell him how much you love him and how much he means to you and how much you appreciate what a wonderful husband/father he is. I’ve learned so much after all that I have been through and know what I want in a future husband and will never settle for less than someone who honors his priesthood and can take me to the temple and be all those things Pres. Hinckley mentioned.

The last paragraph that really stood out to me was:

“Do not nag yourself with a sense of failure. Get on your knees and ask for the blessings of the Lord; then stand on your feet and do what you are asked to do. Then leave the matter in the hands of the Lord. You will discover that you have accomplished something beyond price.”

I am eternally grateful for all the incredible women that I know. There are way to many to list, but the roles that women have to fulfill today are so demanding, and I am thankful for the amazing examples I have of WONDERFUL WOMEN all around me. At church, at home, at work, from friends, from strangers, etc.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE WOMEN WHO HAVE TOUCHED MY LIFE. YOU’LL NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH YOU’VE DONE FOR ME OR WHAT YOU MEAN TO ME!!!

PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE SOMETIME TODAY!!!
