This morning Autumn woke up at her usual 7:30 (so much for sleeping in on Saturday mornings). We had some cereal and watched the Disney Channel. Then at 10:00 we went over to WalMart to get some groceries and then went over to Mom & Dad’s house. I got everything ready for the party and then people started to show up at 1:00. We had hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, watermelon, and soda.
I also made “Better Than Making-Out Cake.” It’s just devil food cake and when it’s done baking you poke holes in it and pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over the top and let it soak down into the cake. Then I topped it w/ whipped cream and cut up some Twix candy bars to put on top. SO TASTY!
People came in shifts, and towards the end of the day (around 4:00, there were 18 of us). Tommy & his fiancé Kara & her brother, Alex, Blanca, Andres, Nick M., Jared (wrestling kid), Liz, Liberty, Alison, Braulio, Michael’s mom, Jacob, Nick, Michael, Autumn, & I. I felt bad for Liberty, b/c he couldn’t swim since he had sliced his arm open earlier today while inspecting an attic and he had to get stitches!
We had such a good time just eating and talking and laughing and swimming. At one point in the party, I sat down at the the table and just sat back and was so happy and content b/c I was surrounded by good food and good friends that were having a good time. That’s what this life is all about…the relationships we have w/ others and the memories we create.
Autumn warmed right up to Michael’s mom and even sat in her lap and watched Ice Age while I went and got cleaned up. Michael & I took Autumn over to Curt & Mary’s so Jessie could babysit Autumn for me while I went on a double date w/ Michael & Liz & Liberty.
We went to Outback, b/c Liz really wanted some good steak. Liz liked the bread so much that we asked the waitress to bring Liz her own loaf. At the end of the night, there was 1/2 a loaf left over of bread and Liz put it in her purse to take home! LOL!
I know I say this all the time, but I really am eternally thankful to have such close & good friends as Liz & Liberty. It is ALWAYS a party w/ them around and we were all laughing so hard and just enjoying being out together. The way Liz & Liberty interact as a couple is just fun to sit back & watch.
I loved being there w/ my friends & Michael. He is so good at being able to talk to anyone about anything. He was being so funny that the waitress even hit on him and asked him if he was dating anyone! I was flattered that she was trying to hit on him b/c I was able to smile at her and basically tell her to back off b/c he was there w/ me! I hope she didn’t spit in my food!!!
Anyways, after a fun dinner together we went & picked up Autumn & came back to Mom & Dad’s house to watch Taken. That is a GOOD movie! By this time it was getting late so Liz & Liberty headed home. I was going to go back to my house to sleep, but Autumn was asleep in the guest room, so I just stayed at Mom & Dad’s. It was the perfect day of fun and food and friends.

Lisa..I haven't visited your blog for a few weeks and what do you know-your dating someone!! :) Where did you meet him??
OK, next weekend I'm calling. It was my birthday weekend this weekend, so Lane and I did a solo thing, but I want to crash the party. Also, if Liz wants, I have the recipe for the Outback bread. I used to make it all the time and it turns out exactly the same. Lane loves it.
Wow that sounds like a great day! You look really happy Lisa, I am happy for you :)
